AIRS is changing

QUT Library is in the process of redeveloping AIRS - the Advanced Information Research Skills program. While we do this, this AIRS website is available with the current content for students of IFN001.

  • If you're commencing your Higher Degree Research degree on or before 15 December 2023, then you will automatically be enrolled in IFN001.
  • If you're commencing your HDR degree after 15 December 2023, you will automatically be enrolled in IFN006.

Completing one of these units is a mandatory requirement for Higher Degree Research courses at QUT, including in IF49 (Doctor of Philosophy), IF80 (Master of Philosophy) and ED11 (Doctor of Education).

If you are enrolled in IFN001 Advanced Information Research Skills (AIRS), then this website is the location for unit information, learning modules, and workshop resources. IFN001 assessment details are on the Assessment page of this website and the IFN001 Canvas site for submission. Students enrolled in IFN001 will find a link to the IFN001 Canvas site in your Canvas dashboard. All AIRS communications will be sent to your QUT HDR email.

If you are enrolled in IFN006 AIRS - Advanced Information Research Skills, then the IFN006 Canvas site is the place for everything, including unit information, assessment details, and learning resources. Students enrolled in IFN006 will find the link to the IFN006 Canvas site in your Canvas dashboard when your teaching period commences. All AIRS communications will be shared via Canvas announcements. Please ensure your Canvas notifications are set up to receive all notifications via your HDR email.

Please email the AIRS team with any questions or concerns.
