APIZZA

New Haven-style pizza, known as apizza (ah-BEETZ), is a delicious pie with a thin, crispy crust, minimalist toppings, and quality ingredients. The balance of flavors in true apizza is what makes it unique. Wooster St. in New Haven is home to iconic apizza destinations such as Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana, Sally’s Apizza, and Zeneli’s.

Zuppardi’s, Modern Apizza, and Bar are among the other venerable institutions that have contributed to the region’s apizza legacy, each offering its own unique take on this beloved dish. Whether you prefer your apizza topped with traditional ingredients or crave something more adventurous like clams or mashed potato, you’ll find no shortage of options to satisfy your pizza cravings in Greater New Haven.
