Sul Ross State University is honored to host the Big Bend Area Law Enforcement Officers Association Memorial Service on Wednesday, June 5, at 10 a.m.
The annual memorial is held on the campus mall in Alpine near the sculpture called “Donde Esta?” which sits atop a platform displaying the names of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty in the Big Bend area. The sculpture, created by artist Curtis Fort (Tatum, N.M.), was installed in November 2016.
The public is invited to attend.

Prickly pear and cholla blooms graced hikers with their bright colors on Hancock Hill this past weekend. In honor of National Trails Day on June 1, we will offer two Guided Hikes.
📍Family Hike with Maureen Frank. Children and their parents will hike less than one mile and will use the Seek app to identify plants and animals.
📍Hancock Hill Trail History Hike with Kevin Urbanczyk. Hikers will take the regular 1.8-mile route and will learn about the Hancock Hill trail system, Big Bend Trails Alliance (BBTA), trail advocacy, and sustainable trail design and maintenance.
