Who We Are

Student Legal Services (SLS) is a pro-bono legal clinic run primarily by law students at the University of Alberta. For over 50 years, our dayleaders and volunteers have provided free legal assistance to low-income adults and undergraduate students in the Edmonton area. We also contribute to legal reform and legal education efforts as they impact poverty law issues.

If you are a student or low-income individual needing assistance with a legal matter within our areas of practice, you may be eligible for our services. Please contact the relevant project for more information.

Note: We cannot assist with matters at the Alberta Court of King’s Bench.
