Students from Mr. Hanley’s Ap Computer Science classes had a google meet with game development professor Bill Crosbie from Raritan Community College and Rutgers University. Bill shared his experiences from teaching game development for the last 18 years and students got to ask him questions about the field.

Students enrolled in Masterpieces of Drama and Musical Theatre English class, seniors in the Aspire program, and members of the High School Musical Company went to see Moulin Rouge on Broadway.
Shen High School’s choral ensemble Bella Voce traveled to Bristol, Connecticut to perform for an adjudication. The students received the highest rating, “Superior”, and spent the day celebrating at Lake Compounce Amusement Park.
Four 8th grade students from each of the three middle schools were recognized for their leadership at the School Administrators Association of NYS (SAANYS) Region 6 Student Leadership Breakfast at The Vistas at VanPatten Golf Course in Clinton Park.
Peter H. Reynolds visited Skano &Tesago for a Create Bravely Family Night. This was the first stop on his district-supported visit for elementary students. He reminded everyone that creativity fuels everything!

HSE hosted the Underclassman Awards for 10th and 11th graders. Dedicated students were awarded a variety of academic, leadership, community service, and effort-based awards.
For the 23rd year, 38 Shenendehowa graphic design students attended a billboard unveiling in partnership with LAMAR Advertising to reveal the winner of the anti-impaired driving campaign. Congratulations, Amber Dumire, for creating the winning (and impactful) design!

Congratulations to the 8th grade Latin students who won an award for placing on the National Latin Exam. The National Latin Exam is a short test that is given annually to Latin students around the world. Thirty seven 8th grade Latin students won awards based on their scores on the test.
The Shenendehowa Latin teachers led a group of 40 Latin students on an 8-day trip throughout Greece. Students visited archaeological sites, modern sites, and museums!
Shen will be hosting the first (and potentially third) game of the best of three Class AAA Baseball Semi-Finals on Friday, May 17th! Our opponent will be either Colonie or CBA (click to read about purchasing tickets).
Koda 8th grader, Ava Guilmette, won 1st place (her sixth national title) and is the Women’s U15 National Wrestling Champion! Ava will represent USA at the Pan-Am Championships in El Salvador in June!
Shen has played an active role supporting Two Towns-One Book since its inception. Dr. Robinson and his team took second place in the Lessons in Chemistry Brownie Bake-off!
Congratulations! This year’s high school musical, Anything Goes, was nominated by Proctors Theater in four categories for the 2024 High School Musical Theatre Awards. The production was nominated for Best Ensemble, Best Choreography, Best Pit Orchestra, and Best Musical.
Katie Fittipaldi, an Alexander Technique instructor at the Eastman School of Music, visited all four Shen high school orchestras. Katie worked with the students on incorporating awareness, balance, relaxation and imagination into their playing.
The Gowana NJHS hosted the “Gowana Olympic Games.”

The middle school FLL Robot Rumble was held at HSW. Six of our middle school teams competed in robot performance and FRC Crescendo field models. The results for robot performance include File Not Found placing 1st, Data Deleted 2nd, and the CaptiBytes 3rd.
The Business Department held their annual “Shen Speaker Days” event. They hosted 15 dynamic guest speakers from the Capital Region.
