An

movie poster, An, Festivale film review ; 482x682

This Japanese film tells the story of a quiet, patient old woman who befriends a shop owner/cook and a schoolgirl when she takes a job in a tiny restaurant.

If you are a fan of anime (which this isn't), you will be fascinated to see how realistic anime is in its portrayal of Japanese life.

Even if you're not, this is a beautifully told story, it looks great, it is engrossing and moving and well worth your time.
