Rutgers University–Newark Video Professor Kimi Takesue has received numerous awards and accolades during her long film career. She was honored again recently when the Criterion Collection released her 2016 feature documentary, 95 And Six to Go, as part of its First-Person Asian American documentary film series.
Legendary Star-Ledger sports columnist Jerry Izenberg (SASN ‘52) recently released a book about Major League Baseball trailblazer Larry Doby, who went from the Newark Eagles Negro League team to the Cleveland Indians, debuting as a 23-year-old second-baseman in July 1947 and becoming the first player to go directly to the majors from the Negro leagues.

We serve all the undergraduate colleges at Rutgers–Newark by offering 2,000 courses a year in more than 40 subjects, a rigorous Honors College, revolutionary Honors Learning-Living Community, and countless research and independent study opportunities working with and learning from internationally renowned faculty on the cutting edge of research in both the arts and the sciences.

Our faculty have won numerous awards for their publications, including the Lambda Literary Award, American Book Award, Liberty Legacy Award in Civil Rights History, and Lannan Award
