The AIU has upheld its suspension of Kipruto who will lose his 10k road world record and 2019 Worlds 10k bronze as a result. Kipruto is the first athlete coached by the famed Brother Colm O'Connell to receive a ban and he went to great lengths to try to prove his innocence. In addition to creating a website, he went on a series of benders over the span of 7 weeks to see if that would impact his blood values in the ABP as he admits he's an alcoholic.

World Athletics added one universality place and four rankings places to the Olympic marathon field on Tuesday with the four ranking spots going to athletes from Chile, South Africa, the United States, and Australia, meaning that Leonard Korir will join Americans Conner Mantz and Clayton Young on the Olympic marathon start line on August 10.

The biennial event will have it's first edition in Budapest in 2026 with $150,000 prize money for winners, smaller 8 to 16 athlete fields, a three-day competition schedule and could feature new events such as a mile steeplechase or mixed 4x100. Strange Peter Bol Doping Case Update
This fact came out in another case involving a footballer accused of EPO usage who is represented by Paul Greene, the same lawyer who represented Peter Bol and many others. In the footballers case, "WADA scientists insisted in the hearing that Bol’s case did not involve a false positive but that testing results were obscured as a result of the degradation of his sample in the three months between testing of his initial A sample, and the testing of his second B sample. His first sample was then also retested eight months after it was initially tested."
