Laying Sod on the Grand Junction Colorado Temple Grounds
Fresh rolls of grass sod are being laid on the grounds of the Grand Junction Colorado Temple, just outside the ornamental fencing. The temple's exterior cladding and art glass both feature the same design motif—the claret cup cactus. It was named the official state cactus of Colorado in 2014, and it is also known as the hedgehog cactus (Echinocereus triglochidiatus). Lamp posts are being installed in the parking area.
Bacolod Philippines Temple Rises in the City of Smiles
The Filipino city of Bacolod began as a humble fishing village on the northwest shores of the island of Negros. Today, it is a thriving urban center and home to the rising Bacolod Philippines Temple. Roofing of the ancillary building has begun, and cladding of the temple exterior continues. The streets of Bacolod feature well-preserved heritage homes that reflect the city's colonial past.
Fence Installation on the Elko Nevada Temple Grounds
Permanent fencing has been installed on the grounds of the Elko Nevada Temple, inside the temporary chain-link fence. Most of the scaffolding has been removed from the steeple, and progress is being made on installing and cladding the hardscape features. Heavy equipment is carrying out the fine grading and excavation needed for the landscaping. Construction has been underway for just over two years.
Auckland New Zealand Temple Motifs Reflect Māori Culture
The ornamented stone on the exterior of the Auckland New Zealand Temple features beautifully detailed motifs that draw inspiration from the rich designs and symbolism found in Māori art. Māori are the indigenous Polynesian people of mainland New Zealand (Aotearoa) who arrived in the 14th century. They developed a distinctive culture that has had a significant impact on New Zealand’s music, art, and cuisine.
