Academic Programs

Study at Harriman

The Harriman Institute offers a number of programs for students interested in Russia, Eurasia, and Eastern Europe, including a Master of Arts in Regional Studies (MARS-REERS) through the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. The MARS-REERS degree program focuses on a multidisciplinary approach to the study of contemporary Russia, Eurasia, and Eastern Europe.

Fellowships & Funding

Through a rigorous application and selection process, each academic year, the Harriman Institute awards an abundance of student funding to cover partial or full tuition, stipends, research travel, language study, and internship support for Columbia University students studying our region.

Columbia BA/MA Program

A program for current Columbia students in their junior or senior undergraduate year looking to complete an MA of Russian, Eurasian, and Eastern European Studies.
