What's Afoot With Grace:

Lord Julian Goes A-Sleuthing!!!

May 25, 2024

A Gentleman in Search of a Wife, Lord Julian’s fifth mystery, is off to a terrific start. (Ordering inks here.) His lordship galloped out of the gate to the top slot on Amazon’s historical mystery list and his early reviews are glowing. Heartfelt thanks for that, from his lordship and from me. I am already at work on the sequel, A Gentleman of Unreliable Honor, due out in September.

On the blog this week, we’re discussing (in part) why Lord Julian is so good at what he does. Has to do with being able to fix his attention on both a narrow objective and on seeming details, a flexibility I do not enjoy to the same extent. I’m giving away a signed copy of Gent in Search to one commenter, so add your comment here.

Summer is almost upon us, and with that in mind, I’ve discounted my Highland Holidays novella quartet to $.99 in the web store (because three of the stories are about about vacay-holidays rather than the jingle-bell kind). If you want to add these happily ever afters to your virtual beach bag, order here. The Sweetest Kisses Trilogy web store exclusive will remained priced at $2.99 until June 1, and that link is here. Wheeee!

The Mysterious Month of May!!!

May 19, 2024

Lord Julian’s fifth mystery, A Gentleman in Search of Wife, will publish on all the major ebook retail platforms this Friday (May 24). To say I am excited is to deprive you of the image of me, bouncing on the edge of my writing chair for this whole week. Print and web store editions are already on sale. Retail ordering links here.

And speaking of mysteries… The Mysterious Marquess, book two in the Bad Heir Day series (and not a mystery), now has pre-ordering links. On-sale dates are in August, and I’m happy to say, the draft is just about ready for Madam Copy Editor’s delicate and ruthless attentions. Pre-ordering linky-poos here.

And while you’re building your To Be Read stack… Please recall that the Sweetest Kisses trilogy bundle is on sale this month in the web store for $2.99. This is my lawyers-in-love contemporary romance series, and you will not find the bundle anywhere else at any price (legally). Web store link here.

Of Books and Bouquets!!!

May 12, 2024

On the blog this week, we’re throwing roses, and sometimes even catching them. Beethoven gets honorable mention as well, and I hope you’ll join the discussion too!

Lord Julian has been busy! Not only is his fifth mystery, A Gentleman in Search of a Wife, due out on May 24, (May 17 in the web store), but his sixth adventure, A Gentleman of Unreliable Honor, is now available for pre-order. This will be a September release, and yes, friends, there will be print editions (and a final cover, I hope). Ordering links here.

Apple Books is having a wowser historical romance sale through May 25 (which means you can load up for any Memorial Day getaways, beach raids, or just for fun). Miss Dashing (aka Hecate and Phillip, Mischief in Mayfair No. 8) is among the offerings, priced at $2.99. , and you can see the whole line-up here.

Sounds Sweet!!!

May 5, 2024

On the blog this week, I’m considering how alarm clocks and stroke risk impact my life (they are related, apparently), and I’m asking readers to chime in about their soundscapes. Share your comment here.

That happy sigh you hear is me, being delighted that Lord Julian’s fifth mystery, A Gentleman in Search of a Wife, already has a print version (from Amazon). I will wrangle some other print options over the next few weeks.

And in this lovely month of May, do take a peek at my Deals page. The Sweetest Kisses trilogy is a web store exclusive, and I’ve put the whole bundle on sale for $2.99. If you’ve given my Damson Valley contemporaries a pass before, this is the lowest price I’ve put on them ever. Order your copy here.

Taking Attendance

I’ve asked Nick Kolenda,  a digital marketing expert and all around swell guy, to look at the sales functions on my web store, because I know nuffink with a capital Nuff about e-commerce, but I am very sure that readers deserve the smoothest buying experience I can give them. In the course of our discussion, Nick mentioned that we have two kinds of attention. One is referred to as top-down, meaning I’m on a web page or in a physical store because I have an objective in mind: Buy half a dozen good quality, dark … Continue reading
