An exciting summer opportunity designed for all incoming first-year and transfer students who will be starting at UConn in the fall. This intensive five-week program was created to provide interested students who have committed to UConn, a strong jump start to both their coursework and the UConn experience.

Earn 7 credits in 6 weeks during UConn First Summer Program. The program is offered during Summer Session 2 on the Storrs Campus.

Early Move-in


Students attending First Summer will be able to move-in to their fall semester housing assignment before the other students arrive on campus.

Our First Summer students have early access to campus services such the Rec Center, Husky One Card, Student Health and Wellness, etc.

Kick off your academic experience with UConn First Summer!

 

This is an intensive five-week program created to provide interested students who have committed to UConn, a strong jump start to both their coursework and the UConn experience.

Are you graduating from high school this spring? UConn First Summer will help with the transition to college by offering a jump start to your academic career. It will also provide you with the opportunity to explore the main campus and surrounding communities and to gain skills for college success.

Are you an incoming transfer student? UConn First Summer will offer you the chance to get a foothold on your UConn career, build relationships with peers and faculty, and establish important ties to the UConn community.

During UConn First Summer, you will enroll in two academic courses and take part in a range of social, cultural, educational and recreational activities that will get you moving, thinking, and interacting with others. The five-week courses require a significant commitment where you will be supported throughout your participation as you transition to UConn in the fall.
