The Glory Be is said 24 times each day for nine days, in thanksgiving for all the blessings and favours given to St Therese of the Child Jesus during the 24 years of her life. Start the Novena each day with the following prayer:

Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit,

I thank you for all the blessings and favours You have showered upon the soul of YOur servant Therese of the Child Jesus,

during the 24 years she spent here on earth,

and in consideration of the mertis of this, Your most beloved Saint,

I beseech You to grant me this favour,

if it is in accordance with Your most Holy Will

and is not an obstacle to my salvation.

After this prayer, say the 24 Glory Be’s, between each of which should be included thei short prayer;

“Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, pray for us”

Most holy Apostle, St Jude,

faithful servant and friend of Jesus,

the Church honors and invokes you universally,

as the patron of diffult cases,

of things almost despaired of,

Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone.

Intercede with God for me that He bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of.

Come to my assistance in this great need

that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven

in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly..

and that I may praise God with you and all the saints forever.

I promise, O Blessed St Jude,

to be ever mindful of this great favor granted me by God

and to always honor you as my special and powerful patron,

and to gratefully encourage devotion to you.

Remember, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart,

the ineffable power which thy Divine Son has given Thee over His adorable Heart.

Full of confidence in thy merits, we now implore thy protection.

O Heavenly Treasurer of the Heart of Jesus,

of that Heart which is the inexhaustible source of all graces

and which Thou mayest open when Thou pleasest,

in order to distribute amongst men all the treasures of love and mercy,

of light and salvation, which it contains;

grant us, we beseech Thee, the favours we solicit…

No! we cannot meet with a refusal,

and since Thou art our Mother, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart,

favourably hear and grant our prayers.

O Immaculate Virgin Mary,

Mother of Our Lord Jesus and our Mother,

penetrated with the most lively confidence in your all-powerful and never-failing intercession,

manifested so often through the Miraculous Medal,

to obtain for us the graces and favors we ask during this novena,

if they be beneficial to our immortal souls,

and the souls for whom we pray.

Obtain for us then a deep hatred of sin

and that purity of heart which will attach us to God alone

so that our every thought, word and deed may tend to His greater glory.

that we may recover by penance what we have lost by sin

and at length attain to that blessed abode

where you are the Queen of angels and of men.
