What's This All About?

I'm new to the blogging world, but with so much interest from friends and family to keep up with what's going on in our life, I thought I'd give it a try. Here's a whirlwind rundown of our last several months...

Our baby girl is due just 6 days away (August 25th) and I can hardly believe it. But I'm more than ready for her to make her grand entrance and grace this world with her presence. The last 9 months have flown by at an incredible rate, as I'm sure we'll feel with the next 18 years as well.

My husband, Lee and I have been busy trying to get things ready around the house. The baby's room is complete, just missing the sweet little girl. Lee loves to involve himself in home projects. He added crown molding, chair rail and new base boards to the nursery, along with painting the walls. While working in the nursery, he also added wainscoting in the upstairs hallway and down the stairs. His next project will be to remove and install new molding in our living room and a fresh coat of paint. I enjoy helping when I can, but due to an increasingly large basketball-like shape in front of me, it is sometimes difficult to truly help out.

Along with trying to prepare ourselves for our baby girl, we have been working with the animals as well. Cassie has been formally enrolled in training classes with Follow Me Dog Training (http://followmedogtraining.com/) with RenĂ©e Lamoureux.  I would highly recommend her skills to anyone looking for dog training in the Richmond area. She knows what she's doing and connects so well with the animals. We have all learned a lot in the process. Our other dog Biggie is very different from Cassie and much more low key. Cassie is a working breed dog and requires a lot of attention. Early June of this year, Lee was working out in the yard and discovered a little gray ball of fluff. He brought her to me and we have all (dogs too) welcomed her into our home. At just 3 weeks old when he found Nellie, I had to bottle feed her kitten formula. She has grown to love the dogs and I believe even thinks she is one now.

Our life is always exciting and we never know what each day may bring. I've always believed that God would never give you anything you can't handle. We take each day in stride. Sometimes, it's just about slowing down to smell the roses. Plus you never know what else you mind find.

'till next time,
Natalie
