The College of Arts and Sciences offers academic programs that teach students how to think, how to write, how to research, and how to learn.

At Loyola, you can prepare to become a certified secondary teacher in Classical Studies, English, Foreign Language, Mathematics, Science, or Social Studies. You can study pre-law, and pre-health programs with professional advisors, and benefit from professional and student tutors in the Student Success Center, Language Lab, and Math Lab.

Faculty Success

Joel MacClellan Receives Award for Excellence in Research

Joel MacClellan was recently awarded with the Loyola University New Orleans College of Arts and Sciences Faculty Excellence in Research Award. This award is given to a person who has demonstrated consistent superiority in scholarship as evidenced in the publication of books, articles in refereed journals, creative endeavors, conference presentations, as well as other activities pertaining to their academic field. Alumni Tom Gruber, co-creator of Siri, visits Azby Greenhouse

Alumni Tom Gruber, '81, and co-creator of Siri, visited the Azby greenhouse to meet with Environment Program students and staff and to learn about student research, campus sustainability and other activities that go on year round in the facility. Tom is a strong advocate for ocean conservation and ending ocean plastic pollution. Learn about his advocacy here.
