Life is a gift. Over the last 47 years Ive learned that fact. Perhaps I should have known. Perhaps not.
Here we will share memories and lessons learned through the vicissitudes of life.
The butterfly knows a thing or two about victory. One must believe that no matter what the trials and obstacles, they will always be lead in triumph both in posterity and prosperity!
We will discuss that here, too!

This site is dedicated to the memory of my mother, Pamela Mae Cole Owens. As the name suggests, Ode to my Mom, it is an elaborate [graphically] structured poem praising or thanking God for her life, describing her nature, the lessons she taught me and the memories of her that I hold dear.
My mother passed after a twenty-two months battle with breast cancer that progresed to her bones and her brains. I didn't believe that she would actually pass away... It was hard to digest. She was only 48. I was 28. Jasmine, my daughter, was was 8. It was way too soon! In the spirit of "God knows best", I've tried to reconcile the reasons why it was best for her to go so soon; however, no matter the rationale, nothing stops the pain from loosing her.
But, enough sadness. Anyone who knows my Mother, knows that she was definitely a delightful person. She was indeed "a sweet spirit". And, that will be the focus of this Ode, this poetic peace of love and life I've created just for her memory. It is my way of thanking GOD for whose loins I came from and my way of living a life that would honor her memory. My hearts desire!

This testimonial is especially near and dear to me. The day my mother passed away, I had just arrived home. When my grandmother walked in the room to tell Papa that my mother had passed away, I was standing in the doorway of the room behind his chair. Papa batted his eyes when he had a lot on his mind. I overheard him utter these words as he patted the chairs arm. I cried. I never knew how good of a child my mother was. What Ive learned over the last 19 years is amazing. Spencer Cole (Father) Pam was loving and caring always excited to see you. Although she was 7th of 8 children she had that big sister vibe. We had our best bonding in the summer of 1961 when Patricia and I spent a week at the house with Jimmy, Loretta, David, Eloise, and Pam. I loved her much and miss her dearly. Wish we had more time!
