She has experience in biospecimen banking and diagnostic neurodegenerative neuropathology, and in using quantitative techniques to identify relationships between analgesic use and Alzheimer’s Disease Neuropathologic Changes. Recently, she helped develop guidelines for diagnosing and staging Limbic-predominant Age-related TDP43 Encephalopathy (LATE) neuropathological changes. Her laboratory utilizes multidisciplinary approaches, including quantitative molecular platforms, biomarker development, biostatistics, and epidemiologic assessments to characterize molecular mechanisms of clinical dementia and develop new biomarkers for disease detection.FACULTY AND RESEARCHNUIN is a research-oriented PhD program, highly interdisciplinary, collaborative, and with numerous and diverse foci of research excellence.
