Through the Lab’s projects, youth and adolescent girls and boys of ages 14-25 of mainly marginalized backgrounds are empowered to lead the design, development, and implementation of youth-led social change projects by adapting the hands-on, learn-while-doing elements that lead to products, services or public advocacy campaigns. The Lab offers Youth-led Projects funding, guidance, and equipment to turn their social impact ideas into reality.

The aim of the initiative is to renovate and use the existing sports field in Fushe Kosove.

Activities to be carried out with the small-scale funding agreement include segregation of duties among team members, Gazmend Qyqalla and other members regarding the flow of activities; open Facebook and Instagram page, promoting #sporteshnete – a campaign that highlights sports and health in Kosovo; meeting with sports field representative; lobbying with decision-makers, including the Director of MED in Fushe Kosove, and deputy minister of Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, in order to take permission and financial support for the renovation of the sports center; distribution of leaflets and posters regarding the cleaning of the sports field and movie screening; mobilizing volunteers for cleaning the sports field and movie screening; using the raised funds to renovate the sports field; the official opening of the sports center and street ball tournament organizing.

The aim of the initiative is to help the youth with special needs by purchasing them the needed equipment.

Activities to be carried out with the small-scale funding agreement include segregation of duties among team members, Qendresa Ademi and other members regarding the flow of activities; open Facebook and Instagram page, promoting #ndihmojmesebashku – a campaign that highlights the support of youth with special needs; meeting with school principal in order to get the permission for organizing the food fair, which will be a fundraising event; notifying the students about the fair and asking the mayor for permission about using the school’s yard for the fair; organizing the theatrical show in the Cultural House in Fushe Kosove.

The aim of the initiative is to create a career guidance center which will operate inside high schools in the municipality of Obiliq.

The team will start this initiative by lobbying with MED in Obiliq in order to get a permission for the initiation of their activities inside high schools in Obiliq. In the meantime, they will create a profile of their initiative in social media websites and will conduct informative meetings with youth, NGOs, parents, and KFOR. They will also conduct lectures and presentations with youth regarding the opening of the career guidance center.

Since its establishment in 1989, Roma Theatre has performed plays from Roma non-Roma playwrights and has continuously sought to rich the higher levels of promotion of the Roma culture. The Roma Theatre which functions as an integral part and a separate division of the NGO “DurmishAslano” has always worked with compassion and enthusiasm and has shown great theater development which can be proven by its 29 years of existence. Nowadays, Roma Theatre generally performs plays written from its local playwrights and we can freely say that Roma Theatre has reached its peak of development and can easily be compared with other amateur theatre groups from other communities who function within the Culture House of Prizren.

Traditionally, Roma Theatre prepares new performances each year by presenting its play in various cities of Kosovo. In every performance, there is both Roma and non Roma audience fulfilling all the seats in all theatre houses wherever the plays are being shown. Up to now, Roma Theater has been regularly supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Directorate of Culture of the Municipality of Prizren, as well as some international donors such as the Swiss Embassy, American Embassy, OSCE, CARITAS etc.

As every year, the Roma Theater started preparing the annual play and this year`s play puts an emphasis on inequality and hate speech. The rehearsals, as usually, have started in late January 2018 and one of the local Roma author has foreseen to put this play on the stage in order to tackle the issue of discrimination as a direct call to building a more inclusive society. This year`s play counts some 25 amateur Roma artists who are mainly youngsters between 17 and 22 years old.

As mentioned above the reading rehearsals have started in January 2018 and the play is expected to be completed in April, when we perform it on the occasion of the International Roma Day 8th of April.

The Lab's Ponder workshop is by far the best activity I have ever taken part in. I liked how it was organized, the activities, the articles, the mentors who pushed us to always think critically, and the exercises that provided us with hands-on practical experience. It was really entertaining!
