The Good Samaritans of the Knights Templar Foundation [GSKT] was originally formed in 1996 to provide humanitarian aid to the less fortunate of the world. In that regard, our first project was at the request of Cardinal Dr. Raphael Bidawid of the Chaldean Catholic Church in Baghdad, Iraq. Cardinal Bidawid requested GSKT assistance to help some of the less fortunate in Iraq because the world aid packages of food and medicine were not reaching those who needed that help. This initiative and our trip to Iraq to meet with Cardinal Bidawid occurred in 1998 and later [Click here for more info].

The GSKT Foundation has since significantly broadened it’s outreach with expanded focus on Youth Leadership Training through participation in the United Nations Youth Assembly in New York [CLICK HERE] and increased International Public Policy Internships for Youth, while still continuing to aid the less fortunate through anonymous random acts of charity in partnership with a program known as SILENT KNIGHT. SILENT KNIGHT is based upon a book written by COLONEL [Ret.] Craig Carlson, U. S. Army, and has now expanded throughout the entire world. Future plans for GSKT include expanded involvement in charitable outreach to international youth leadership organizations through sponsorship of scholarships and internships with a view towards helping future generations escape poverty by providing them with education and training that will give them the credentials and experience they need to qualify for substantive employment in international public policy, and thus become self-sustaining. Increased emphasis in working with the United Nations during their International Year of Youth [12 AUG 2010 11 AUG 2011] and beyond, including significant participation in the United Nations Youth Assembly in New York City each year, will further enhance and broaden these efforts.

In this regard, we are already working closely with the Admiral James J. Carey Foundation [See www.AdmiralCareyFoundation.org for further information], the Future Leaders Washington Scholars Internship Programs of Washington, DC [See www.WashingtonScholars.org for further details], and the Knights Charity Organization in Denmark [See www.knightscharity.org for further details]
