Home Welcome to the home of 1st Bangor Scout Group 1st Bangor Scout Group offers the families of the Sutherland Shire opportunities to experience Scouting in the community. The Group has a vibrant history and is conveniently located in the Shire to cater for most land and water based Scouting activities. Being located in Ross Reserve and just a short walk from Akuna Oval, we have plenty of room for activities. Our youth members also enjoy canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing and abseiling during the warmer months.We are a family focused Group that encourages involvement by Parents as well as enjoyment and development for our Youth Members. Attendance at the weekly meetings is only a small part of Scouting. Each section has its own unique and exciting program of activities and out Group participants in many District, Region and State events including, Joey Campfires, Cub Fun Days, Region Camp just to name a few.Parental involvement is essential for the ongoing functioning of the Group. Besides becoming a member on the Group Committee or becoming a Leader, there are many other ways to support your children from transport to and from activities, volunteering at weekly meetings or special activities, participating in working bees and contributing to our Fundraising events.The Scout movement offers a diverse variety of activities and experiences across a broad age range. Children aged from 6 to 18 can join 1st Bangor Scout Group at any stage and participate in a program that encourages them to grow through adventure by experiencing new challenges, making new friends, building confidence, taking responsibility for themselves and being provided with opportunities to explore their own abilities and interests. The most important thing about Scouting is ensuring youth members have FUN.
