NOTICE: The Sands Space History Center is now open! Tues-Fri 0900-1400, Sat 0900-1700 and Sun Noon 1600.We are doing everything to create a safe environment by following CDC guidelines to include frequent sanitizing and enforcing social distancing. Face masks are required to be worn by all staff, volunteers and visitors over the age of 2. Since opening to the public in 1966, the Air Force Space and Missile Museum has introduced millions of visitors to the history of rocketry and space flight.Our goal is to collect, restore, and exhibit items of historical significance which relate to the development and heritage of U.S. Air Force space launch activities.Our facilities include the Space Missile Museum exhibits at Launch Complex 26, Launch Complex 5/6, and the surrounding areas as well as the Sands Space History Center. We re passionate about sharing the history of the Air Force s space and missile programs.
