Confession, I’ve personally tested this theory. I was a jewelry designer, and the aim was to connect our earthy, goddess jewels to couture designers. Based on an actual dream, in order to make an impression for our first appointment with Bill Blass, we filled a suitcase with actual dirt to present and pull our jewels from.

Bill Blass was a little shocked at first, then clearly amused. He said yes and commissioned our jewels and shawls for his runways which put us on the map. The runways of couture designers Oscar de la Renta and Mary McFadden were next. Bigger things, like international reps, media, and sales followed.

Our team launched Susan’s book with an event at the Louis Vuitton Soho NYC shop and created her style blog. But when we told her story in a video series that filmed dreamy and electric runways, parties, and places in the frenzy and fabulousness of Paris Fashion Week, this really launched her videos series and raised her profile.  

“There was a time when Americans loved Paris!” boomed The Kaiser #karllagerfeld as our cameras rolled!

Pioneering wireless resort owner, Emmanuel Rengade hired us for original ways to call attention to his newest resort, Fazenda Catucaba, on a former coffee plantation set on 1000’s of acres in São Luís do Paraitinga, Brazil. Sure we introduced him to media, but it was our visionary introduction to the artist Pasha Radetski to create land art that put the resort on the global map with media coverage from Architectural Digest France to Casa Vogue and Departures.

KPI.
Our curation of Radetskis Portal do Sul, placed doorways across thousands of acres for a vast landscape installation. This premiered the art residency program at Fazenda Catucaba, followed by projects by two of the most famous Brazilian designers, the Campana Brothers and homes by Marcio Kogan.

This visionary project made the Top 100 and the Top 8 in the Landscape category in the CODA Awards, an international competition for design projects that demonstrate the most successful integration of commissioned art. Plus, the installation was covered in the media by international trend platforms, Trendhunter.com and PSFK.com.

In the Breaking The Law music video (over 400K views) starring David Rogue and directed by Andreas von Scheele, actress Liz Fye’s character was glamorous, dangerous and a master of disguise.  

As stylist for the video, I created a big, blood-red satin rose necklace (enticing yet thorny) paired with traditional demure pearls. Campy movie star glam for hair and makeup along with the flowery dress added a humorous, polished energy for the tongue-in-cheek video, which also starred legendary producer, Ben Barenholtz, and actress, Rebecca Blumhagen.

With a strategy fit for a diva, we launched Lake Como Italy’s first new 5-star luxury resort in 100 years, The Castadiva resort, now known as the Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como.

The resort is the re-imagined home of soprano diva Giuditta Pasta, the protégé and muse of the famed composer Bellini. The house was a meeting place for many artists, composers and singers in the 19th century and we were chosen by an Italian agency (now our project partner) to bring editors, writers and influencers to the 20th century, glamorous re-opening of the Diva’s home.

Key guests at our media luncheon and media tour in Italy included editors from Vanity Fair; Conde Nast Traveler; Travel Leisure; Departures; Allure; Aishti, the glossy from Bierut; concierge travel directors from Quintessentially, The Metropolitan Opera and the Smithsonian. Our guests also included the famous Fischers, of Fischer Travel.

Media: we placed features in Urban Daddy; Delta Sky; Wine Enthusiast and Afar magazine, and an Access Hollywood feature airing to 3 million people and the writer’s 1.4 million twitter followers. “Feng Shui in Times Square” is my metaphor for a game change.

Let me explain. Most people think Feng Shui means endless white walls, flowing organic, hemp drapery and a lot of pasture-raised plants. So yin, so Snoozy! The opposite of Yin, Yang energy, is equally a quality of Feng Shui. Times Square is one of the most Yang, Western-bling places on earth. Thus, we kinda love that our Feng Shui concepts and consult brings balance, supporting the designer of a new, HUGE luxury hotel in Times Square.

How it started: Interior Designer of high-rise penthouses for titans of industry to homes for 3-star Michelin chefs, Marie Aiello came to us to fix her website to support her intentions for her business to grow and to add a major hospitality project to her portfolio.

We had a full house on a Sunday morning at Javits Center and were featured in an article on the industry site, BOH, Business of Home!

Goddess of CREATION: A DAP with Abundantia of Italy 04Mar18

Upon the last northern evening ebb of Rome’s Fiori delle Alpi honied dew and her fragrant-bursting blooms of Pittasporum, Mulberry, and Jasmine

sliding off the volcanic mountains
and tucking in to sleep

Buongiorno arrives!

Good Morning to a Sister-Sistine-Chapel-Dap a digital authentification protocol (DAP) of the Universe and suns energy to every dewy dreamer.

Why Italy. Why Abundantia. Why Now.

Pick head up. Look at the Sun. It sees You.

In honor of Romes Goddess of CREATIVITY, Abundance, and Prosperity, our gal whose very name, Abundantia, gets her voted Miss Sunshine, lets DAP with HER. Feel her warm, loud sing-song ciao! to every awakening, pulsing cell of citrus-fruit flowers, espresso machina steam, and morning sunbeam!

Ciao to her and YOUR vastness! I’m sharing the behind-the-scenes story of my illustration and story of Abundantia, she of the Mediterraneans beloved Italy, one of the total 12 goddesses in my adult coloring/comic book, Immortal Beloved: The World’s First Goddess Perfume + Coloring Book.

ahem. You ask why Italy? Ha!

Ciao! to every roaming, spiraling, bright smiling, curvy, Botticelli-bod, Mama Madonna goddess rolling over to wake up, huge smiles and stretches from last night’s romp with her lover! Ciao! to goddess Signora Abundantia here, all comfy centrale, cuddling baby amidst La Strada traffic zooming and That’s Amore! lovers meeting bods beneath sparkling fountains!

“Shake it awake,” says Italy, “Shake until gorgeous!”

Almost all goddesses everywhere in myth and legends are aligned with the energy of CREATION, being Mamas or archetypes for everything fertile under the golden sun. (like my best-ever favorite Prada ad above!) If we look at the globe of Mother Earth herself this goddesss belly is the Mediterranean (Middle Earth) area, an arching fertile crescent, aligned with the center of our own bodies. In the ever-churning flow of nutrients and sensory impressions which rule our experience, creation cycles our inner processing landscape of feelings and emotions of gut intuition, and like a sun, WE CREATE. Our center is symbolic of our guts, will power, strength, courage and visceral expression. Creation is a central core aspect to our health and vitality!

This energy is located in the third chakra, highest earth chakra of the body which is known as our

solar plexus

of nerves, called Manipura in Sanskrit. Translating, man or mani means “gem, mind or thinking mechanism” and pura or puri means “city,” translated literally as the “city of jewels,” or as science is lately affirming, our gut is the second brain of our body. I go further and call this area the third “Star Gate” of your body, home, and our Earth’s sacred body in space.

OK wow, right? A Pure Power and Prosperity Sync Up!

Once upon a time, pondering what really is the being of our sun, besides being a ball of fire and the whole of Creation here on Earth, I wondered why it wasnt a woman who actually got the dap from God?

I drew this:

which became this:

Of course, Abundantias receiving the DAP, from a male/God projectile to fill her famous horn of plenty, the cornucopia, is the must-have handbag of fertile goddesses globally. The multiple legends, depending upon the myth-teller, say Zeus/Hercules (strength) broke off a horn from the head of either the moping River God (sad flow) or a nourishing Goat Goddess (Mamas breast of ever-flowing milk) who was suckling him as a baby. A horn (or a finger) of course is a spiraling projectile that amplifies, cornu in Italian, + copiosus root of the word copious, for plenty. The water nymphs (light hearted emotions) stole it then from Hercules and gave it to the goddess Abundantia to see what she would do with it.

Hmmm.
Strength over moping
becomes Emotion moving
and then becomes a gift to Wealth.
That. There. Is. My. Golden. Goddess. Girls CREATION!

Every goddess in our book has a fingerprint, for the ancient global tradition of women marking safe places on the Earth, above is Abundantias. Part cornucopia, part two spiraling opposites, and if that isnt enough for ya, this happy little basket of all things twist-a-corner/corny/horn/horny is my inspiration for the chic Prada shoe heel in my illustration, below!

Many more Italy-deliziosos in the story and illustration. As I myself colored all the pink roads that lead to Rome and the goddess called Abundantia of Italy, I wanted to share some of my influences and inspirations in creating this goddess illustration from Sophia Lorens 1970s movies to

Gucci, Pucci, Fellini to the sun/star angels of Fiorucci and to the Sistine Chapel power dap. Mantras, elixirs, essential oils, scents, flavors, myths, and other fun deep dives as always. La dolce vita was invented in Rome, where all roads lead. Too much is never too much for a gal like Abundantia at the crossroads of global culture. She gifts life and abundance through her creative touch, from a just-picked burst of Blood Orange zest to her ancient cities fully bursting with art and triumph. She inspires as the wind gives life to a square of Como silk fabric, unfurling it like a scarf, a map, lifting it up full of new ideas, from the depths of the Italian Riviera’s Mediterranean sea, all the way up to the highest Dolomites of the Italian Alps!

She was gifted her signature symbolic cornucopia in an ancient myth, where it was first a horn popped off the brow of the River God by Hercules. The horn was taken up by the Naiaids aka Water Nymph Girls who transformed the horn into a spiral Bon Copia (Good ‘n Plenty) basket that was then gifted to Abundantia, as the poet Ovid epically rhyme-rapped. Hmmm. God guys are always giving their ribs, horns, and other similar phallic thingies to the Goddess girls no wonder Italy is an abundant cornucopia of sexy, sensual!

HER ANCIENT FUTURE SIREN SONG FOR YOU. Feeling Basta!? Enough! Too full, empty or undone at all your edges, and all you wish for is to be is back centered in your energia? Ward off your own evil eye, open your cornicello (cornucopia) and “Create!” sings the song of Abundantia through our third chakra. Bright yellow-orange center of the body, home of our solar plexus gang of nerves, this is also our intuitive gut, where we digest the world and put our spin on it in our own soulful way. When CREATE, Star Gate 3 opens, there’s always more and more. Italy is “Manifest Centrale,” amply feeding her kids, her brilliant actors, architects, artists, designers, chefs, musicians, fashionistas, business moguls, painters, and lovers.

As Italy’s aria, Abundantia is said to enter our casa during the night, lighting up and outlining the borders of our dreams, inviting prosperity. Well-heeled future visions always breeze through the mind of Italy’s creators in concert with the past, the gifts of the land, and Abundantia’s sunshine-beaming, gold coin horn of plenty. She is well fed and well pleased. In all our Voluptuous Nostalgia, we are Abundantia, too. We are the girl whose scarf unfurls behind her “on the back of a Vespa, swerving through the ancient, teeming streets of Rome with her Italian lover, flashing his brilliant smile around every curve.

In The 9-Star Passport, the energy to create is at the center of a building’s space, just as it is in our body’s architecture and the Earth’s core. The chakra is called solar, and in traditional feng shui the gate is called Health, echoing the idea that our digestive system is the center of all health. That health is a golden center of light radiating and synched to our feelings and openness to creation itself is magnifico! Alchimia, sì?

Extra notes! Im adding this in as a look back to an old college illustration, loving Italy back then, having lived there one summer. Notice Ive got this beauty leaning on a spiraling column of history!

Ive also always adored the folky, corniness of souvenir travel scarves, which of course, were a major inspiration to the illustration of Abundantia!

I was once told by a medium that I worked closely with Michelangelo. That always felt very right to me and like many others in the world, it seemed as if the stone was breathing and alive when as a wee person I looked up at the statue of David.

Including my photo from way long ago to arc to my latest favorite depiction of an Abundantia by painter Suzannah Martin. Its got the gold spiraling horn-of-plenty in a modern sense, these girls are such knowing-floating-water nymphs and their nude bodies should not be seen any different than that of David above!
