The new building facility will work as an overflow space for Jum'ah prayer, Eid prayers, Sunday Islamic School, weddings, childcare, parking, and other activities, in addition to two apartment units to house the Imam and the Muazzin. The current Masjid building was founded in 1982 through two graduate students' painstaking efforts. Unfortunately, it is not enough to accommodate the growing numbers of Muslims from Pullman and Moscow, the two college towns. Therefore, the Pullman Islamic Association (PIA) has purchased a neighboring house adjacent to the Masjid parking lot for $143,000 to build the Masjid Annex building due to the current limited capacity problem. After three years of tireless efforts, we have obtained the building permit from the City of Pullman, and the new facility is estimated to cost $850,000 (Building design is attached). Since our local student population has income limits, we cannot raise this amount on our own. This project requires the collaboration of every Muslim with a vision for Muslims' future in this part of the US. In the name of Allah, the most compassionate and the most merciful. Uthman (RA) reports that the Prophet(SAW) said: “Whoever builds for Allah (SWT) a masjid, seeking by it Allah’s grace. Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim). Building a masjid is a long and challenging process which requires a great deal of resources, expertise, wisdom, patience, consultation and above all the help for Allah (SWT).
