The Student Life Promenade, a gift to the University from the Class of 2005, depicts student life at Penn State from the founding of the 'Farmer's College' in 1855 to modern day events such as THON. Designed by sculptor Bill Culbertson, the piece is comprised of several relief scenes on the faces of five concrete pillars. The Nittany Lion Shrine received a thorough cleaning with a professional grade, bio-degradable, conservation and cleaning mixture that removes dirt and oils while protecting the existing stone. Conservator Curtis McCartney applied the cleanser on the morning of June 2. It is fawning season at Penn State's Deer Research Center. Part of the university's Department of Animal Sciences, the Deer Research Center provides unique research and educational opportunities for students and faculty.
