Although the probability of a collegiate athlete moving on to play professionally is relatively low across all sports, that has not stopped some Cal Poly athletes from chasing their desires of becoming professional athletes. Cal Poly senior volleyball player Maia Dvoracek, also an All-American team member, said she decided to continue her education at Cal Poly for an extra quarter to play her last season as a Mustang. The COVID-19 pandemic forced Cal Poly’s student-athletes to adapt — from restrictions on how and where teams can practice to the personnel allowed at training.
