One was in these words that came to me: “Love is enthroned” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 454). They made me cherish the sense that since God is infinite good, infinite Love, there is no space for evil or anything unlike God in His allness. Anything unlike Love lacks cause, effect, or legitimacy.This Journal makes it clear that Love is the healing power for any of the issues that humanity is facing today. Love heals divisiveness in a way that we can tangibly bear “witness to the unifying power of divine Love,” as pointed out in the lead article, by Douglas Paul.In the interview, “Daily Defense,” Elise Moore quotes Mrs. Eddy’s words in The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, which urge us to “keep [our] minds so filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them” (p. 210). What a reminder about our real defense from any threatening situation! And in times when contagion is prominently present in general thought, it is comforting to know that we are effectively protected from it by filling our minds with the Love that casts out disease-transmitting fear. Divine Love continuously imparts the patience, love, and humility that silence the fear of the unknown in the wilderness of loneliness and doubt. This Love brings out the right sense of the ever-present, God-given supply that provides for all human needs, as we see in the Bible story of Hagar, mentioned in Steve Warren’s piece, titled “The God who sees me.”November is a time when gratitude is cherished. Don’t miss “Gratitude for the universal Christ” by Dilshad Khambatta Eames.
