In his youth, Fok studied Wing Chun under Leung Fook Cho, the grand student of Leung Jan. From Leung Fook Cho, he learnt all the forms, knife, pole and the dummy techniques.
Fok furthered his Wing Chun tuition under the tutelage of Yiu Choi, one of the three heroes of Wing Chun (Yuen Kay Shan and Ip Man being the other two).
Fok Chiu has always been low-key, never seeking fame or fortune, and definitely never one to show off. With the desire to pass the torch to future generations, Fok Chiu opened a club in Wong Tai Sin in the early 50s.
His students have spread to America, Europe and Mainland China. It can be truly said that Fok Chius students have spread to the four corners of the earth. Currently, Sifu Fok still tirelessly travels around. He regular inspects his Wing Chun club in Gaoming, Foshan which he established years ago.
In addition, Fok has also served as the director and consultant at the 24th and 25th annual meeting of the Foshan Chin Woo Association.
Sifu Fok Chiu, sometimes called an elder statesman of Wing Chun is the main lineage holder of Yiu Choi in Hong Kong, and has meticulously researched the 108 set Che Tsin Kuen (aka Chong Kuen) as handed down from Leung Fook Cho.
The movements in this set are entirely for offence and is the distillation of all the movements in Wing Chun. This is a groundbreaking form which helps Wing Chun practitioners develop a deeper insight into the underlying principles guiding Wing Chun.
Years ago Sifu Fok Chiu has incorporated Qi Gong into his Wing Chun for cultivating health and longevity. Practicing Wing Chun is suitable for senior citizens and for enthusiasts from all walks of life.

He is a grandstudent of Yiu Choi, also known as Dai Lik Choi (Big, strong Choi), one of the three heroes of Wing Chun (Yuen Kay Shan, Ip Man and Yiu Choi). In his youth, Kwok studied Wing Chun under Yiu Chois son, Grandmaster Yiu Kay. After arriving in Hong Kong, he studied the weapon and dummy sets with Sifu Fok Chiu.
Kwok Yue Min has considerable insight into the principles behind Wing Chun, especially in sensitivity training drill chi-sau; practiced with the eyes shut. He also has an expert understanding of long and short range fighting applications.

Grandmaster YIU Choi (Fok Chiu's master)
Yiu Choi (Yao Cai) was born in the 16th year of the reign of the Guangxu Emperor (1890) and died in 1956. Nicknamed Strong Choi, his name was bestowed upon him due to his surprising strength.

Once, with his arm outstretched, he could easily lift up a big basket of rice by his wrist, just by using his wrist power. Yiu Chois one punch carried 460lbs of impact; his inch punch could break stone tiles, his bong sau broke the arm off of a wooden dummy. Later under the guidance of Ng Chung So, Yiu switched to the bamboo dummy to develop softness. As a result, Yiu Chois sensitivity and stickiness in chi sau improved tremendously. Softness within hardness, and hardness within softness is one of the distinguishing features of Yiu lineage Wing Chun.

Yiu Choi studied under the tutelage of renown Foshan Wing Chun master, Yuen Chai Wan. Later he continued his training as a student of Ng Chung So. Alongside Yiu, Yuen Kay Shan and Ip Man all took pointers from Ng. Later on, Yiu Choi also received guidance from Kok Bo Chuen (who spent his time between Qinzhou, Guangxi and Foshan). As a result of his comprehensive knowledge, Yiu Choi was able to distill the essence of all his teachers and subsequently, his skills developed tremendously.

At the time the reputation of Yuen Kay Shan, Yiu Choi and Ip Man were so well known they were called the Three heroes of Wing Chun. Today, the descendants of Yiu Choi are numerous, many with outstanding skills, found throughout the world.

Fok Chiu is the last of Yiu Chois first generation disciples. He has been teaching students in Hong Kong and China for the last sixty years. His students have spread far and wide, to the US, the UK, France, Canada etc.
