We have the expensive GE front load clothes washer WCVH6260 series purchased in November of 2006. It has been annoying from a very young age, smelling like mold and tearing clothes (even after following GE s instructions many times to clean and prevent and always... Same issue found in our machine, model WCVH4800K2WW. It is July 2020 and the machine is 5 years old.It is very difficult to find the parts available to replace it.Nobody sells it separately, everyone sells it all together and it is at least a $350 investment. I have had a new GE frontload ventless electric dryer for a year and a half. It has broken down three times. I have been waiting for a repair part for the last month. Terrible customer service. Repairman who came the first two times spent most of the time on the phone being talked through the service call. I had to show him how the dryer works (or in my case doesn't work). I called customer service numerous times telling them that i need a call back by a manager. They told me that Mrs Danielle Buvin (manager) was going to call me. I am still waiting!!! Repair cost would be $300. My dryer is not even 2 yrs old and already have to expend $$$ for repair and more $$$ for a new one. GE used to be a reputable company. Guess it's true, they don't make things like they used to and nothing is made in the USA!. We bought a GE fridge in March- it wasn't our first choice- but between the pandemic and our kitchen layout it was the only model we could get that fit. Less than six months later it starts making a crazy noise and the temp shoots up. I call to get it fixed only to be given an appointment 9 days later. I call to move it up and they promise me a 2 day turn around- NOPE- Guy shows up and "fixes" it at the original appointment. Last night it died- AGAIN. I call again for service to get an appointment 7 days from now. I am done. I have now thrown out the contents of my fridge twice in less than a month and have resorted to using the 7.4 cubic mini as my main fridge. User's recommendation: DON'T BUY GE AND IF YOU DO- HEAVEN HELP YOU GET SERVICE. Yeah that's not a good machine or service but it has nothing to do with the pandemic and your kitchen layout is your own fault. GE is falling like a rock and this may be one of the reasons. GE refuses to accept responsibility and claims that the cooker functions according to their specifications and therefore refuse to compensate me in any way.
