Re-cap: MillionTrees NYC and GAGS CommunityService

April 29, 2012 1 Comment

On Saturday, April 28  MSGAers set out on a journey  to Staten Islands Wolf Pond Park to make the world (at least the North Eastern  side of the U.S.)  a better place! This community service event was sponsored by MillionTrees NYC and the Parks and Recreation department of NYC. MSGA students (AKA the GOLD TEAM) planted over 100 trees, learned about various plants in the N.E ecosystem and also had a ball bonding and getting to know one anotherwhich is one of the things Grad students rarely get to do!

Special thanks to those who attended! GAGS hopes to continue these events in the future and look forward to your participation!

Pics below were taken during the event:

Info Session: Fulbright US Student Program, April10

April 6, 2012 Leave a comment

Information Session: The Fulbright US Student Program
Tuesday, April 10
4:00-5:30
Silver 120 (100 Washington Square East)

The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.

This Tuesday, April 10, the Faculty of Arts Science will be hosting an info session on the Fulbright Application process for all students. Historically, few applicants from SCPS, but there is the scope for a lot more of you to receive Fulbright awards for travel and research so give it serious thought. Most awards go to PhD students, but (US) Masters students with good projects have a decent chance.

For more information about the Fulbright program, visit their web site here.
