First Class Bed and Breakfast in Berwick upon TweedBuilt in 1835, Caroline House is a comfortable, welcoming, 3 star  family run Bed and Breakfast located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Only minutes from a long, sandy beach with cliff walks to the south and spectacular views down the coast to Lindisfarne, the wide promenade leads to the Tweed Estuary with panoramic views of the walled town and pier.Caroline House is situated in Spittal, Berwick upon Tweed.  Spittal is a small seaside resort in northern Northumberland, England, and is located near Berwick-upon-Tweed.  Spittal Beach as one of the best beaches in Northumberland and visited frequently during summer by many tourists from around the world,  and also frequented by famous artists such as  L.S Lowry.  Spittal is considered by some as one of the best sea-side resorts in Britain.  It is attached to Berwick-upon-Tweed, and together both it and Spittal contain a wonderful beach, pubs, restaurants, shopping and most of all welcoming people.Holy Island On Our DoorstepWe are also on the National Cycle Route, 1 mile from the town centre, public transport stops at our front door and we are in an area of outstanding natural beauty.  If you are looking for a Bed and Breakfast in Berwick upon Tweed then look no further.Our Bed and Breakfast Accommodation is an ideal base for trips to nearby Holy Island,  Alnwick Castle (Hogwarts from Harry Potter) and approximately 60 miles each way to Edinburgh and Newcastle.Please feel free to contact us for any questions or special arrangements you may need. First to thank Linda, the landlady to open up her beautiful home. Offering a very warm welcome. Spacious room with a cozy feel. Lovely gardens and a locally sourced full english eaten in the sun room. I was quite disappointed that I only booked just the one night. 20 mins walk or 5 mins drive into the beautiful Berwick. We ate at the only Italian in town. This comes highly recommend and very reasonably priced. I give everything 5 ♥♥♥♥♥ If you are visiting the area you will not find anywhere better to stay. The hostess Lynda could not have been more helpful or friendly giving us a map and marking the places to eat and suggesting things to see. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the room very comfortable and even had a selection of books and games. The breakfast was very tasty and sourced with home grown and local products. Berwick is an interesting place with its city wall and history, it is largely unspoiled by the modern world and if L S Lowry is of interest the Lowry trail is a must. I cannot think what else could be done or provided to improve our stay! stayed at Caroline House for three nights, from Tuesday 9th July through to Friday 12th July 2013, we had a wonderful stay in the Church view room, my husband, our two dogs and myself had loads of space, a very comfy bed, a lovely private bathroom across the landing. Very clean very quiet and very very friendly. The Host Lynda is wonderful, her local knowledge made our stay! steering us to quiet places to visit away from crowd as one of our dogs is crowd shy, A lovely and well cooked breakfast, with the treat of the option of a ducks egg, all locally sourced even tomatoes from Lyndas own garden. plenty of fruit juice, cereals, hot toast, tea and coffee. This is the best B +B both my husband and I have stayed in, it was a blessing to find it and we will be returning later in the year. There are no negatives apart from leaving, we really did not want to.
