AMS Acta is the institutional open access repository which enables the researchers of the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna to share, preserve and showcase their scientific works making them easily accessible, citable and reusable. The repository collects and disseminates unpublished research such as preprints, technical reports, working papers, conference proceedings, research data and software. Moreover, it collects series and books published by the University Departments and Research teams. The publishers’ policies in Sherpa RoMEO SHERPA/RoMEO is a free online database that makes available the policies regarding open access publication and dissemination of a number of Italian and international publishers. Academic authors can check these policies when they wish to disseminate their research using their institutional repository, subject repositories, personal website or academic social networks. AMS Acta mints DOIs The University of Bologna has joined the DOI-CRUI project. Thanks to this initiative we can attribute a non-commercial DOI to the peer reviewed open access publications and the research datasets archived in AlmaDL repositories.A DOI (Digital Object Identifier) uniquely identifies a published digital content and makes it possible to locate that content on the web.A DOI consists of a string of alphanumeric characters that can be easily quoted in references and bibliographies as a direct link to the full-text resource. Read more The features of the repository AMS Acta increases the visibility and the impact of the research results of the University of Bologna as it supports standard descriptive metadata and interoperability protocols that make indexing easy for Internet search engines, library catalogues and academic portals and aggregators. Thanks also to an agreement with the National Central Library in Florence, AMS Acta ensures long term preservation to the archived materials. Moreover it supports open licenses such as the Creative Commons that facilitate the accessibility and the reuse of scientific results. AMS Acta can mint DOIs for the archived open access publications and the datasets, so that they can be easily cited and tracked on the Web.
