For Bentley traditionalists, however, the W12 returns, boasting 6.0 liters, twin turbochargers and a boost to 567 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque. Lighter than the outgoing model thanks to some material changes throughout, the revised W12 sprints to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.
It sends power to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission capable of delivering gear-skipping double downshifts for improved response.
The Continental GT’s all-wheel-drive system has also been revised. Sending power to an increased width track, the system now splits 40 percent of the power to the front wheels and 60 percent to the rear to reduce understeer. New 20 and 21-inch alloy wheels are available.
Outside, the Continental GT gains new jeweled headlamps with LED running lights, a revised front grille and some tweaking to the outgoing car’s bodylines. The body is heavily revised from before despite a similar appearance.

The Veyron weighs a hulking 4,160 lbs, but even its harshest critics admit its handling is surprisingly sharp. Gordon Murray, designer of the McLaren F1 was very skeptical of the Veyron during its development, but after driving the finished car, he conceded it is a “huge achievement.”

Impressively, the trunk-mounted lithium-ion battery subtracts just 1 cubic foot from the standard 7′s 14-cubic-foot cargo capacity.
Driving Impressions
At about 15 percent, the 2012 BMW ActiveHybrid 7′s fuel economy gains over a comparable 750 are not insignificant. Neither is the hybrid’s 450-pound added weight, but that is what makes the next part so amusing. This super-luxury sedan is most impressive when your foot’s on the floor. Of course, the conventional 750 is already very quick, but the ActiveHybrid 7′s additional power is immediately noticeable, particularly when the electric motor comes online with an extra surge. Yet the ActiveHybrid 7′s ride and handling are remarkably unaffected by this additional weight.
Compared to other luxury hybrid sedans, the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 has a firmer, more direct ride quality, even in Comfort mode. This yields a more engaging driving experience, making the 7 Series a hybrid sedan that’s actually fun to drive.

2012 BMW 6-Series 650i Coupe and Convertible Price, Review, Specs, what car reviews, The 2012 BMW 6-Series is all-new with third-generation versions of the 650i Coupe and Convertible. The new 6-Series is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or a new 8-speed automatic transmission and produces 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque, good for a 0 to 60 time of 4.8 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph. A range of BMW EfficientDynamics measures contribute to reducing fuel consumption and emissions. The car’s all-new chassis and structure makes extensive use of aluminum for strength and lower weight. The Coupe and Convertible are both longer and wider than their predecessors, featuring a long sweeping hood, short front overhang and a set-back passenger compartment. The convertible is a classic soft-top. Powertrains and Performance
The 2012 BMW 650i is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 generating 400 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but “xDrive” all-wheel drive is optional. An eight-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control is standard, and a six-speed manual is optional on rear-drive cars. The start/stop feature is not included. In Edmunds performance testing, we timed an automatic-equipped 650i convertible from zero to 60 mph in a quick 4.9 seconds. EPA-estimated fuel economy for an automatic-equipped convertible stands at 16 mpg city/24 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined. Opting for the manual drops those to 15/22/17.
Safety
Standard safety equipment includes four-wheel antilock brakes with advanced standby and drying features, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags, front knee airbags, active head restraints and BMW Assist. Pop-up roll bars also come standard on the convertible. In Edmunds brake testing, the 650i convertible stopped from 60 mph in 111 feet, an impressive halt for a 4,200-pound car.
Interior Design and Special Features
It’s not as elegant as the Jaguar XK’s streamlined design, but the 2012 BMW 6 Series interior offers top-shelf materials and craftsmanship in a fitting, cockpit-centric design. Depending on your preference, the center console’s high hip line may instill a sense of security or slight claustrophobia. Improvements to successive generations of iDrive make it one of the most intuitive interfaces for controlling phone, navigation and audio functions. The latest upgrade, featuring a 10.2-inch color display, makes cycling through essential menus even easier.
The 6 Series excels at accommodating two passengers, but the rear seat is only suitable for adults on short trips to the restaurant or driving range. Trunk space measures a relatively enormous 12.3 cubic feet in the convertible (10.6 with the top down) and both cars have a pass-through to accommodate longer items. The convertible’s heated rear window retracts independently of the soft top, doubling as a wind deflector when the top is dropped. Lowering the soft top takes about 20 seconds; raising it takes just a few seconds longer.
Driving Impressions
Behind the wheel, no one will mistake the 2012 BMW 6 Series for a 3 Series. The 6 makes few sporting pretensions, and while we wouldn’t call it athletic, it’s also not at all wayward or uncoordinated. The optional Active Roll Stabilization system keeps the brawny coupe composed through corners and helps it change direction quicker than its 2-ton heft would suggest. The steering changes weight depending on the driver-selected dynamic mode (such as Normal or Sport), but in all forms, it remains reasonably precise. Optional Active Steering also uses rear-wheel steering for low-speed maneuverability and high-speed stability.
Where the 650i’s previous engine made its best power near its redline, the new twin-turbo V8 unleashes a seemingly endless flow of low-end grunt and properly competes with torque-rich engines in the Jaguar XK and Mercedes-Benz E550. The new 640i also performs quite well, however, and it’s definitely worth a drive to see if you really need that higher-numbered model.

Test drivers report that the 2011 BMW Z4 is fast and handles exceptionally well — especially the all-new performance-tuned sDrive35is trim. Edmunds writes, “Trust us; it’s a lot cooler than its clunky name sounds, boasting 35 additional horsepower from the 35i’s twin-turbo inline-6, enhanced steering and an M Sport package that adds adaptive suspension dampers, 18-inch wheels, an aerodynamic exterior kit and sport seats.” Still, some critics complain that the 2011 BMW Z4’s steering lacks proper feedback.
Z4 Exterior
The Z4’s exterior was revised in 2009 to look sleeker and more luxurious. “Many of the polarizing features of the previous Z4′s design have been toned-down, amounting to a much more elegant look,” writes Left Lane News. 2012 Cadillac DTS Price, Review, Specs, what car reviews, The Cadillac DTS is the model that many people think of when talking about Cadillac’s. This is the best selling and the most commonly seen Cadillac on the roads. These feature heavy Cadillac’s offers about every luxury option possible, but it will cost a pretty penny. The base model DTS starts off at $46,000 so adding on options will add up rather quickly. All the different DTS trims come with the same motor and all are front wheel drive. This full sized luxury sedan comes stock with a 4.6 liter V-8 that puts out 275 horsepower at 6,000 RPMs. The on Star service and 8 speaker surround system also come on the standard DTS. If you are interested in heated seats, Bluetooth capability or any other high end features you had better consult your checkbook.
This is one of the few vehicles on the market that can actually seat six passengers comfortably. There is no mistaking the signature smooth steering and feather-like suspension on this Cadillac classic. The DTS has been around for some time, but it is still one of the most luxurious and sought after models.
Changes for the 2010 model year consisted entirely of new paint options with minor revisions to the OnStar system the only changes for 2011. The DTS remains pricey considering its age and the competition and exists mostly in a holding pattern until it and the slightly smaller STS can be replaced with the new, flagship XTS premium sedan.
Exterior
Although it was rather striking in its day, the DTS soldiers on wearing the first generation of Cadillac’s Art and Science design cues. Updates are non-existent for 2011.
Interior
Power leather seats are standard across the DTS range with seat heaters optional. A premium stereo is also standard with an optional upgrade. Automatic climate control is standard, as is a power adjustable steering column. Navigation is optional.
Performance Handling
The Cadillac DTS comes with only one engine, a 4.6-liter DOHC V-8, but it comes in two power levels. Both the four-speed transmission and suspension are tuned for comfort, not performance, and self-adjusting magnetic dampeners are optional for an even smoother ride.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2012 Cadillac CTS is a five-passenger midsize luxury sedan that is available in four trim levels: 3.0 base, 3.0 Luxury, 3.6 Performance and 3.6 Premium. The high-performance CTS-V is reviewed separately, as are the CTS Coupe and Sport Wagon.
The 3.0 base comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, heated mirrors, keyless entry, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-way power driver seat, leatherette premium vinyl upholstery, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, OnStar, Bluetooth and an eight-speaker Bose sound system with a CD player and satellite radio. Powertrains and Performance
Every 2012 Cadillac CTS comes standard with rear-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is optional. The 3.0 models come standard with a 3.0-liter V6 that produces 265 hp and 220 pound-feet of torque. Opting for the CTS Touring package adds a dual exhaust system that increases output to 270 hp and 223 lb-ft of torque.
Rear-wheel-drive models come standard with a six-speed manual and offer a six-speed automatic as an option; all-wheel drive is automatic only. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the rear-drive, automatic-equipped CTS 3.0 is 18 mpg city/27 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined. Sticking with the manual drops that to 16/26/19, while all-wheel drive drops it to 18/26/21.
The CTS 3.6 models get a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 318 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional, but every 3.6 gets the six-speed automatic. Last year’s 3.6-liter V6 brought the CTS from zero to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds, so the more powerful 2012 edition should shave a tenth or two from that time. EPA-estimated fuel economy is the same as the 3.0′s rear-drive estimate of 18/27/22 regardless of whether you get rear- or all-wheel drive.
Safety
Standard safety features for the 2012 Cadillac CTS include antilock disc brakes, traction control, stability control, active front head restraints, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and GM’s OnStar emergency communications system.
In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety testing, the sedan was awarded the best rating of “Good” in frontal-offset and side impact testing.
Interior Design and Special Features
Inside, the 2012 Cadillac CTS features a pleasing angular theme to match its exterior edginess. Soft-touch materials are plentiful, accented by tasteful wood trim. The optional navigation system emerges from the top of the dash and retracts almost fully, leaving a small section visible as a touchscreen display for the audio system — an ingenious and elegant alternative solution to having a separate control panel.
Unfortunately, the interior also comes with its fair share of flaws. Many find the driving position awkward because of slightly offset pedals, a low-mounted seat and compromised knee room due to the sweeping center stack. Overall comfort is also hampered by flat and stiff seatbacks. Thick rear pillars not only make the backseat feel a bit claustrophobic, but the resulting rearward visibility is notably poor, forcing the driver to rely heavily on the optional rearview camera when maneuvering in reverse.
Trunk space (13.6 cubic feet) is decent, but the narrow opening requires quite a bit of jostling in order to fit bulky items. Golf clubs will not fit width-wise, and so will eat up the available space, as they must be placed diagonally.
Driving Impressions
The 2012 Cadillac CTS tracks through curves with much more athleticism than you might expect. The steering is precise and well-weighted, making the CTS competitive with its European rivals. However, this road-holding performance comes at the expense of ride quality. Those expecting the luxurious ride of Cadillacs past will likely find the suspension on the Performance trim models too firm for their tastes. Given that, the even stiffer optional sport suspension will likely be far too harsh and unforgiving for most.
Power delivery from the base 3.0-liter V6 is sluggish compared to the broad-shouldered 3.6-liter engine. Considering that both engines achieve virtually identical fuel economy, we suggest springing for the bigger V6 if your budget allows.

2011 Cadillac SRX Price, Review Picture – New Car Reviews, The SRX was completely redesigned for 2010 and rides on a new hybrid car/crossover architecture. Now front-wheel drive based, it offers smaller, more efficient engines and optional all-wheel drive. New styling inside and out improve the SRX’s proportions and curb appeal in an effort to better position against the segment leaders. A rear vision camera and two new paint colors are the only updates for 2011.
The Cadillac SRX had a rear-drive configuration in its first incarnation; this was changed to a front-drive, compact, crossover-platform with all-wheel-drive. The SRX is 4.8-inches shorter so its cabin loses out of 8.3 ft.³ of space. The SRX no longer has a third row of seating and legroom is diminished. The V-6, in two options, has displaced the former V-8 offering, and a car buyer can get a turbocharged engine for greater performance.
The SRX is smaller, but it is only a little bit wider than its predecessors. This proves a problem for the SRX’s handling as the V-6 tends to make the car feel as if it’s slow-moving. A trendy offering, the SRX lags in the competition. Adding on options makes this pricey car even more costly.
The 2010 SRX leaves behind the awkward proportions of the first-generation SRX for a much more fitting application of Cadillac’s Art and Science design motif. A sweeping roof and fin-like taillights give it a sporty, aggressive appearance.
Heavily derived from the CTS sedan, the SRX’s interior includes standard automatic climate control and a premium stereo. Leather is standard on most models. The new model affords 61.1 cubic-feet of cargo space.
While the base 265 horsepower 3.0-liter V-6 gets the job done, the premium 300 horsepower 2.8-liter turbocharged V-6 is the more competitive engine. Both feel sluggish under the SRX’s weight. Ride is sporty and compliant and can be upgraded with a sport package that sacrifices ride quality for handling. Fun to drive, but burdened by a high curb weight.
Front and side airbags are standard on the SRX for the front seat passengers and both front and rear seat passengers get side curtain airbags. Anti-roll sensors, electronic Traction and Stability control and OnStar Automatic Crash Response are also standard.
