safeguarding code in martial arts

What is the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts?

For the last 15 years, The Safety Box® has moved from strength to strength in delivering a range of accredited programs to not only those in prison, youth at risk, and young people; but also to their parents, caregivers, professionals working with youth at risk and delivering practical self-defence sessions for young people.

Based in South East England, with an endless knowledge of working within the custodial and community setting, we have helped thousands of troubled youth and also young adults too as well as delivering early intervention strategies to schools and local authorities who are concerned.

We are now starting to turn our focus to other areas of the business, whilst still maintaining our true values of providing a high-quality service. Our new focus is to both students within education as well as early intervention strategies for parents and continuing our work in preventative measures with regards to knife crime, prison work and youth violence.

Another newly developed area for The Safety Box® CIC is moving into the digital space with online 1-2-1 youth mentoring for both the troubled youth and concerned parents who are simply looking to safeguard and inform their children and themselves about issues surrounding gangs, drugs, knife crime and mental health.

Moving forward, The Safety Box® CIC has adapted to the current period and we have shifted our usual in-person trainings, maintaining our prison interventions and mentoring to a digital (DVD), or online presence where we offer online youth mentoring and therapy programs for individuals, training for professionals working with youth at risk, this is where we offer training for youth workers, mentors, counsellors, teachers and front-line staff, where they can attain a professional certificate.

If you're interested in our youth programs or training for professionals or if you are a concerned parent who needs official and accredited advice and tips please do not hesitate to contact us. Alternatively, if you are also tackling hard hitting issues and would like to know how to have an early intervention with your children or any struggling, troubled youth you may know, get in contact with us today to discuss how we can help you achieve the fulfilling and rewarding achievement of helping the troubled youth of today break free from negative situations.

As a way of adapting to COVID-19, we are also offering in cell education packs for prisons in gold command and less.

OVERVIEW -ABOUT US

The Safety Box ® CIC programs are accredited through AQA and are a refined system of training and development in helping young people and young adults develop important skills such as leadership, communication, team working, presentation, high risk conflict resolution, violence reduction, personal development and problem solving. We recognise that these are some of the essential keys to success. They open doors to learning, to life in addition to work. They are a platform on which to build employability skills and the gateway to future well-being and prosperity.

Many of our programs have been developed because there is a growing need to demonstrate to young adults that there are ways to avoid gangs bullying, harassment or more serious, violent situations. Where avoiding threat is not possible, we show how to manage and control dangerous situations.

With almost 15 years of experience, we teach simple in depth, effective tactics to reduce violence and avoid threat, we awaken the potential of young people and above all keep them safe.

We know the stories, we see the signs (most of the time), but we pass the responsibility off to someone else to deal with. We become detached, nonchalant, dismissive. We act as though it’s just another product of living in a marginalised area, or among a certain group of people when it isn’t.
