Carolina Reaper Pepper - Capsicum Chinense - The worlds HOTTEST Chilli Pepper - Seeds The Carolina Reaper is a hybrid chilli pepper of the Capsicum chinense species, originally called the "HP22B", bred by cultivator Ed Currie, who runs PuckerButt Pepper Company in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The Carolina Reaper was rated as the world's hottest chili pepper by Guinness World Records according to 2012 tests, averaging 1,569,300 SHU on the Scoville scale with peak levels of over 2,200,000 SHU. The previous record-holder was the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion. Our Carolina Reaper seeds are locally grown in isolation to avoid any chance of cross polination. The seeds are grown from stock imported from the USA. Trimax is a disease resistant variety making it ideal for organic gardeners. The fruits are produced in abundance, from 50 to 100 per plant, and have a mild flavour with no bitter after taste. Fruits grow from 32cm to 38cm. This climbing English Cucumber is easy to train up a trellis. The plant can reach heights of 2.5 metres and has a spread of up to 45cm. Seed is of commercial quality and has been pretreated with a fungicide coating. Sphagnum peat moss (SPM) is partially decomposed sphagnum moss. It’s large cell structure enables it to absorb air and water like a sponge. Although peat moss does not contain nutrients, it adsorbs nutrients added to or present in the soil releasing them over time as the plants require. This saves valuable nutrients which are otherwise lost through leaching. Sphagnum Peat Moss is derived from the slow decomposition of sphagnum moss which accumulates in bogs (or peatlands). Harvesters clear bogs of vegetation and then dig shallow ditches to lower the water table so that the peat will dry and that the equipment necessary to harvest the peat can operate on the field. Once a bog is ditched, harvesting begins. Harrows loosen the top peat moss which then dries in the sun for two to three hours before being vacuumed into large harvesters. It is transported from the field to the plant where it is screened, graded and baled for storage or shipping. Please note that the 200 litre compressed bales are Lithuanian Peat Moss. Please note that this product is only available for delivery to customers within South Africa.     The key insecticidal ingredient found in the neem tree is AZADIRACHTIN, a naturally occurring substance that belongs to an organic molecule class called tetranortriterpenoids. It is structurally similar to insect hormones called ‘ecdysones’ which control the process of metamorphosis as the insects pass from larva to pupa to adult. Metamorphosis requires the careful synchrony of many hormones and other physiological changes to be successful, and azadirachtin is an ‘ecdysone blocker’. It blocks the insect’s production and release of these vital hormones. Insects then will not moult, thus breaking their life cycle.Azadirachtin also serves as a feeding deterrent for some insects. Depending on the stage of life-cycle, insect death may not occur for several days. However, upon ingestion of minute quantities, insects become quiescent and stop feeding. Residual insecticidal activity is evident for up to seven days or longer, depending on insects and application rate.Bioneem is used to control a wide range of insects (up to 200 insect types) including white flies, leafminers, mealybug, thrips, fruit flies, leaf hopper, red spider mite, weevils and many more. Azadirachtin is relatively harmless to insects that pollinate crops and trees, such as butterflies, spiders and bees; ladybugs that consume aphids; and wasps that act as a parasite on various crop pests. This is because neem products must be ingested to be effective. Thus, insects that feed on plant tissue succumb, while those that feed on nectar or other insects rarely contact significant concentrations of neem products.Acute toxicity study of Bioneem to the Earthworm LC50 3000 mg / kg. Acute oral toxicity study of Bioneem to mice LD50 – 5650 mg / kg. Neem products are recognised in organic guidelines by IFOAM. Bioneem has been found to be compatible with most commonly used fungicides, insecticides and fertilizers. Physical compatibility should first be checked out. (Read label).Do not apply in temperatures above 30 degrees C. Bioneem is an emulsifiable concentrate.APPLICATION RATES: vary between 300 ml – 500 ml per 100 L water, depending on the growth stage of plant and insect pressure. For further info on this product and other Biogrow products please see the Biogrow website for details. Available in 250ml and 500ml bottles. Please note that this product is only available for delivery to customers within South Africa. Aspalathus linearis - Rooibos Tea Shrub - Indigenous South African Shrub - 10 Seeds Rooibos Afrikaans for "red bush"; scientific name Aspalathus linearis is a broom-like member of the legume family of plants growing in South Africa's fynbos. The generic name comes from the plant Calicotome Villosa, aspalathos in Greek. This plant has very similar growth and flowers to the red bush. The specific name linearis comes from the plant's linear growing structure and needle-like leaves. The plant is used to make a herbal tea called rooibos tea, bush tea (esp. Southern Africa), red bush tea (esp. UK), South African red tea, or red tea. The product has been popular in Southern Africa for generations and is now consumed in many countries. It is sometimes spelled rooibosch in accordance with the old Dutch etymology, but this does not change the pronunciation.Bush tea, Rooibos tee", 0.3-2m shrub, yellow flowers in Spring-Summer, sandy dry areas. Touching the flesh has been known to cause severe skin burns. Its not a marketing gimmick when we send you disposable gloves for handling these! The Bhut Jolokia is officially rated at an inferno like 1001304 Scoville heat units, according to the Guinness World Records. This beautiful dark centred variety has 12 to 15cm flowers surrounded by glorious bronze-maroon petals. The branching plants grow 150 to 180cm tall with ten or more buds per plant. These produce exceptional cut flowers with long stems, lasting for several days in a vase. A late bloomer, the dark colour of Red Sun will standout in the garden, adding rich, vibrant colour to your flower beds. The Jiffy-7, 42mm pellet is made from sphagnum peat from specially selected peat bogs. Lime and a special fertilizer with a low ammonium content are added to the peat in order to stimulate growth. As a sweetener and sugar substitute, stevia's taste has a slower onset and longer duration than that of sugar, and some of its extracts may have a bitter or licorice-like aftertaste at high concentrations. With its steviol glycoside extracts having up to 300 times the sweetness of sugar, stevia has attracted attention with the rise in demand for low-carbohydrate, low-sugar sweeteners. Because stevia has a negligible effect on blood glucose it is attractive to people on carbohydrate-controlled diets. Adansonia digitata, the baobab, is the most widespread of the Adansonia species on the African continent, found in the hot, dry savannahs of sub-Saharan Africa.USDA Zone - 10Season to Sow - Spring Strawberry Spinach - Chenopodium capitatum - Exotic Native Amnerican Vegetable / Herb / Fruit - 20 Seeds Strawberry Spinach is one of the best-kept secrets of the herb world. A native American plant, this self seeding annual sets tiny, deliciously tender leaves that can be cooked like spinach or used fresh in salads. It also sets small red fruits in late summer and autumn that taste a bit like mulberries and are lovely fresh or cooked. You can use almost the entire plant instead of just one part, and Strawberry Spinach draws out this pleasure by setting new leaves all season long. Snip off just what you need at the moment, and harvest more later! The foliage is slender, deeply lobed, and appears in rosettes along long, slender stems. The berries are edible as well. Quite small, they resemble raspberries more than strawberries. The berries arise at the base of each stem, and a plant in full fruit is a glorious sight. Grow Strawberry Spinach in full sun (direct-sowing the seeds works best) and rich, fertile soil. It reaches about 45cm high and 30cm wide, and needs no staking or supports. Easy and trouble-free, it's an exciting new addition to the herb garden, vegetable patch, or even the flowering annual flower bed. The lavenders (Lavandula) are a genus of 39 species of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae. An Old World genus, distributed from Macaronesia (Cape Verde and Canary Islands and Madeira) across Africa, the Mediterranean, South-West Asia, Arabia, Western Iran and South-East India. It is thought the genus originated in Asia but is most diversified in its western distribution. The genus includes annuals, herbaceous plants, subshrubs, and small shrubs. The native range extends across the Canary Islands, North and East Africa, Southern Europe and the Mediterranean, Arabia and India. Because the cultivated forms are planted in gardens worldwide, they are occasionally found growing wild as garden escapees, well beyond their natural range. However, since lavender cross-pollinates easily, there are countless variations within the species. Flowers yield abundant nectar from which bees make a high-quality honey. Monofloral honey is produced primarily around the Mediterranean, and is marketed worldwide as a premium product. Flowers can be candied and are sometimes used as cake decorations.Seeds per pack - 30 SeedsCountry of Origin - USACertified Organic by - USDA Liven up mealtimes with this great mix of beetroot that comes in a range of colours (including the striking Italian variety Chioggia, with its internal rings of dark pink and white). They're sweet and flavoursome, particularly if harvested as mouth-watering baby beets. Harvest at baby size to eat raw or pickled and use mature roots for cooking. Stems and leaves are tasty in salads and steamed. The fruit of these species is cultivated and eaten as a vegetable. The fruit must be harvested at a young stage of development to be edible. The vegetable is popular in China and southeast Asia. When the fruit is fully ripened it is very fibrous. The fully developed fruit is the source of the loofah scrubbing sponge which is used in bathrooms and kitchens as a sponge tool. Luffa are not frost-hardy, and require 150 to 200 warm days to mature. In Maharashtra, India, ghosavala (smooth Luffa) are common vegetables prepared with either crushed dried peanuts or with beans. In Northern India as well as Pakistan, turai (thoo-raee) is the common name for Luffa. Marketed as Luffa or loofah, the sponge is used like a body scrub.USDA Zone - N/ASeason to Sow - N/A The Zimbabwean national flower and one of my firm favourites! Sow in spring for summer flowering.
