But what this explosion caused, and what caused it, is still. happening. right. now. The ongoing revolution, daily strikes, the pandemic, financial crisis, and the explosion that destroyed Beirut and all that it did to physically displace thousands drain so many of assets, stability, and resources. Yet, there are still those out there, making the world make sense and feel safe, one connecting with us to help dogs in Lebanon.“We are reaching out, desperately, needing international help. Fighting for animal rights in Lebanon is a losing battle. In a country where animals are viewed as disposable objects, it is very hard to continue to save and rescue.Every day our street dogs are poisoned, shot, tortured, and abused. Most dogs in Lebanon live chained, in cages, out in the cold, their state is truly heartbreaking. We have very little education on animal welfare and are trying so hard to change that.Recently, the dog abandonment rate has increased rapidly and still is. Dog guardians are no longer able to provide for themselves, so they are dumping their pets. Also, after the blast, many stray animals lost the people that took care of them, as well as their safe spots, while others got lost or injured. We have been on the streets trying to help as much as we can, and we are thinking if you can help us adopt dogs outside of Lebanon.” - co-founder of Give Me A Paw LebanonSOS has been lucky enough to be able to connect to several independent rescuers working for the voiceless, and we are in the works of setting up transport for 15 dogs by the end of Nov. Sometimes these pups need a little bit of help with training due to their unfortunate past. We are different than many other rescues because we do not select dogs based on their size or age or even their breed.
