News Simon Watkins and Alan Watson, both of Pitt's Department of Cell Biology, have developed a way to scan entire organs in 3-D and at the cellular level. Now, with some help from George Spirou of West Virginia University, these scans can be converted to virtual reality setups and are able to be examined up close.Watkins believes that this method is unique to Pitt and that will be crucial to the future of biology.
