Gaming tips Posted By List of Pokemon Roster RecommendationsThe current Pokemon Unite roster is good, but it can be better by making it bigger. After all, more Pokemon to choose from would mean a healthier, more competitive metagame. The problem, however, is knowing which of the 900 Pokemon deserve to be in the franchise’s first-ever MOBA. For that, here are a few suggestions. Emboar Gen V is badly underrated despite its unique art style and Pokemon. It’s also underrepresented in Pokemon Unite. At the same time, the game needs a few more defenders. A perfect solution to address both would be to bring Tepig into the game. Much like in the main games, Tepig would be a great defender, able to withstand damage while. As for his kit, he can have the usual utility-oriented one, or the game can play to his strengths and give him a bit of a slight edge in offense compared to other Pokemon that share the same role. The latter is rather fitting, as he is a fire Pokemon. Mewtwo  Let’s be honest – there is already a lot of Gen I Pokemon on the roster. It also doesn’t help that they’re going to add one more: Blastoise. While it would be better to stop adding Gen I Pokemon after the first Water-type starter, they should add one last Pokemon: Mewtwo. The first-ever legendary Pokemon entry-wise, Mewtwo is a fan favorite and would be sorely missed if he didn’t make it to the game. Plus, if there’s anything we’ve seen with Gardevoir, it’s that a Psychic Pokemon moves are awesome in battle. The only problem is that the move might open the floodgates for Legendary Pokemon. Then again, as long as they’re scaled the same way as the rest, there is no problem. Also, regardless of the inclusion of Legendaries, those involved in the creation of the Pokemon world shouldn’t be playable. Celebi Another underrepresented Gen in Pokemon Unite is II. It’s a shame, really, as the Johto region and the many Pokemon that came with it opened the way for the franchise to become much bigger. At the same time, it would be unwise to add Pokemon from a gen or region just because the roster is lacking. It has to be a Pokemon that would improve the roster and the metagame as a whole. So, why not a supporter role from Johto? Among the many that can fill such a role, there is perhaps no one more perfect than Celebi. Agile yet helpful, this cute little mythical Pokemon would be a stark contrast to the usual supporter, able to zoom with ease while providing much-needed healing. Keldeo There is no other Pokemon that invokes the “hero of justice” trope more than Keldeo. Inspired by D’Artagnan of the Three Musketeers. Plus, the game has zero Pokemon from Gen V, so if it’s not going to be the previous suggestion, it has to be this guy. Riding into battle, wielding the Secret Sword, and saving the day – this guy would be perfect for players looking for a chivalric spirit in the games. We already have a funny and awkward-looking Pokemon in the roster with Cramorant, so why not add another one? There are many Pokemon that fit such a description, but Clawitzer would be a pretty good choice. Imagine a Pokemon with a giant claw, moving around the stadium, lobbing projectiles with its oversized claws. Surely, nobody would be mistaking it for the little Corphish – doing so would be fatal, as this Pokemon can shoot immense pressure from its claw lore-wise. Imagine what it can do in the game.  Lycanroc Last but not least would be Lycanroc. Everybody loves a good dog, or at least a close relative, and we already have a fox Pokemon in Ninetales, so this time it should be a wolf. Plus, Crustle probably feels pretty lonely, being the only Pokemon of its type to rock out in the esteemed MOBA arena. For that, this Rock-type Pokemon would not only be a good fit for the roster, but also a unique one. With its typing usually associated with being tough, Lycanroc could be an all-rounded that is slightly more defensive compared to other Pokemon it shares the role with. All of these are just suggestions, but who knows? The Pokemon Company is looking at online reactions when it comes to new Pokemon, checking out which Pokemon want people to be in the game. Hopefully, they see this and consider it. Or better yet, they see your comments as well.  Gaming tips Posted By Inside Bonfire Peaks – the atmospheric puzzle game about burning your belongings – PlayStation.BlogHello PlayStation Blog! I’m Corey Martin, designer, programmer and musician on Bonfire Peaks, a new puzzle game crafted in partnership with Draknek Friends (creators/publishers of A Monster’s Expedition). I’m excited to share that Bonfire Peaks will be launching September 30th on both PS4 and PS5!In Bonfire Peaks, you start off at the shore of a mysterious island ruin with a simple set of goals: Climb the ruins, solve puzzles, and repeatedly set your belongings on fire. Here’s our launch trailer to quickly sum it up: Over 200 handcrafted puzzles are bonded together across that painstakingly designed overworld. Every puzzle presents a distinct idea, either showing you a new mechanic or using a mechanic in a new and unique way. Along your trip, you’ll run into traps and other dangers that lead to surprising, emergent puzzle designs. You don’t gain any power-ups, or grow as a player character; instead, the level geometry and environments reveal possibilities that were there all along.Have you ever played a game and had your forward progress get blocked by a single puzzle, and it feels like the puzzle is an obstacle between you and the rest of the game? I have and it feels bad. In Bonfire Peaks, the island overworld is structured in such a way that, once you get past the first couple puzzles, there’s always a handful available to you at any given time. If you get stuck on a puzzle, you can always try another and make progress without returning to the first one (unless you want to, of course!).I started working on Bonfire Peaks in November 2018 as part of a game jam, the theme of which was “sacrifices must be made.” I went into the jam knowing I wanted to make a game about climbing somehow, and the theme then inspired carrying an object for the sake of sacrificing it. Carrying stuff makes climbing harder, so that made a sort of framework for what ended up being a sappy game about nostalgia. The art style was inspired by a wave of incredible voxel artists (Knos, MadMaraca, Paul Riehle, Dima, among many others) I had been following for a while. Generally when you see voxel art in video games it’s low detail and cute, which is great, but I hope we get to see lots of “mature” cube-y games. There’s such a broad range of moods and styles within pixel art, I feel there’s the same potential in voxel art.In the nearly 3 years that Bonfire Peaks has been in development, it repeatedly organically grew in scope and ambition as I collaborated with game designer Alan Hazelden (A Monster’s Expedition) as well as the brilliant voxel artists Mari K (aka MadMaraca) and Zach Soares (Moonglow Bay). I’m too close to it now, but I really think we’ve made something special here. The PS5 version of Bonfire Peaks has one Activity Card for every puzzle level in the game. Attached to every single one is a hint video showing you how to solve the puzzle. Using the Game Help feature, PlayStation Plus subscribers can seek specific help without worrying about spoiling future puzzles or mechanics. You can watch as much or little of the solution as you like before jumping back in and completing it yourself. There’s a lot of joy in the discovery of solutions, so we hope you give each puzzle a fair shot first, but we are absolutely not hint-shamers and don’t believe there’s a right or wrong way to enjoy the game. Game Help is a wonderful accessibility feature that we’re proud to support. Finally, we’re happy to announce that we’re also launching a Bonfire Peaks Game and Soundtrack Bundle on PlayStation on September 30th, containing the original soundtrack and the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game. The music is equal parts warm, pretty and unsettling, and I think it’s a really big part of what makes Bonfire Peaks special. It’s very directly inspired by some of my favourite composers like Philip Glass and Angelo Badalamenti, as well as great songwriters like Burt Bacharach and Brian Wilson. I really like the mood it sets, and I hope you do too. Soundtrack, game, all of it; I hope you check out Bonfire Peaks and enjoy your time with it. Gaming tips Posted By Warframe Limbo Prime Guide and Best BuildsDespite being one of the most useful Warframes, Limbo and Limbo Prime have a pretty strange reputation. Limbo’s set of abilities stands out from the rest of the abilities in game for its capacity to change basic in-game mechanics rather than focusing on dealing a lot of damage or providing team buffs. When used correctly, Limbo can actually provide your team with buffs that scale infinitely with enemy levels. On the downside, Limbo’s abilities can also be abused to make gameplay boring for the rest of your team.Today, we’ll be taking you through everything you need to know about Limbo’s abilities, how to use them, and what the best builds for Limbo are.How to acquire Limbo and Limbo Prime partsVanilla Limbo’s blueprint can be acquired from the Market, or from Cephalon Simaris for Reputation. To acquire his parts, there is a special Archwing-based quest called “Limbo’s Theorem” that you can obtain after completing Europa (junction) on the planet Jupiter.Honestly, it’s much easier to acquire Limbo Prime by trading him for Prime parts. Limbo was my first Prime Warframe because he’s so easy to get, and is still much better – in terms of stats and aesthetics – than the vanilla Limbo.Limbo’s passive ability and the Rift planeHere’s what makes Limbo so unique: he has access to a whole another dimension that is parallel to ours. All of Limbo’s active abilities are also based on this plane. While in game, pressing Shift (the default button for Roll), Limbo can shift in or out of this plane. You can do this as many times as you want and can stay in the Rift plane as long as you want. The Rift plane is imposed upon Warframe’s “reality”. Meaning you still feel like you’re in the same place, but everything looks lighter and you can’t interact with anything. Nullifier bubbles are your only enemy when in the plane, and not even bullets can affect you. Similarly, you also can’t damage enemies outside the plane unless they are ragdolled, but that situation is too specific to matter. On shifting into the Rift plane, Limbo also leaves behind a small, temporary portal that allies can use to enter the plane as well. This ability to manipulate your allies and enemies into the Rift, and to be able to enter and exit it yourself, can be used in many ways. You can use it to grant your team or a defence objective the ultimate protection, and you can use it to cover gigantic areas within the Rift, keeping your teammates from playing the game properly.Limbo’s Abilities and how Mods affect themLimbo’s four main abilities are:Ability one – Banish: This ability allows you to cast enemies or allies into the Rift plane. If you are in the Rift while casting it, the ability will send them out of the plane instead. Holding down the ability button will free everyone affected of its effect and keep them in the real world. Time spent in the plane is affected by Ability Duration, and range is affected by Ability Range mods. This ability is rarely useful and is often used to troll teammates. A good use of Banish is to help teammates in danger or to cast dangerous enemies into the Rift plane.Ability two – Stasis: This ability freezes all enemies within the Rift plane for a duration of time, affected by Ability duration. Statis pairs very well with all of Limbo’s other abilities. When paired with Cataclysm, it is the ultimate counter to defence missions.Ability three – Rift Surge: This ability affects nearby enemies with Rift energy. When the enemy leaves the Rift plane, the energy is discharge and a radial banish occurs. When the enemies are killed, the surge transfers to the nearest enemy. This ability is affected by Ability Duration and Ability Range.Ability four – Cataclysm: This ability casts a visible sphere, within which everything is sent to the Rift plane. The sphere, most often appearing as a dome, shrinks with time. You can make it last longer by using Ability Duration and Ability Range mods. Range affects the initial and final radius of the sphere, and you can also manually disable the ability by pressing the key again. This is the ability that makes Limbo so good in defence missions, and challenging Sorties like the Ambulas Sortie or Interception missions. You can cast a large dome and freeze everything within using Stasis. For Defence/Excavation missions, having a very short initial radius allows you to keep the objective enclosed in the Rift plane for a long time. Allies within also get Energy restoration over time. Unlike Frost, your entire team can be fully protected as long as the dome lasts. For situations like the Ambulas Sortie or Interception missions, a giant dome works better. In the Ambulas sortie, when the aircraft shoots the crazy laser at you, it does not affect you at all as long as you are within the sphere. A large radius is also useful for Hijack missions, where you can keep allies standing on the objective safe from incoming fire.Limbo Prime best buildsLimbo has two main builds. You can build him for a large radius for Interception/Hijack missions, or for a smaller radius for Defence/Mobile Defence/Excavation missions. Some core properties, such as a high Ability Duration, remain unchanged. Here’s the core build for Limbo Prime:Primed Continuity: + Ability DurationStreamline: +Energy efficiencyPrimed Flow: +Energy capacityNatural Talent: -Casting speedFor a high-range build, add:Stretch: +Ability RangeOverextended: +Ability Range, -Ability StrengthAugur Reach: +Ability RangeCunning Drift: +Ability RangeFor a low-range build, add:Narrow-minded: -Ability Range, +Ability DurationEndnoteWith the right build, Limbo is incredibly powerful and can cheese missions unlike any other Warframe. In Defence missions, be sure to cast the sphere after the timer has started, otherwise your Plane will keep your allies from putting the key to start the mission. And that’s all there is to Limbo: use the Rift plane wisely, in ways that will not interfere with your teammates’ gameplay. Gaming tips Posted By Bloodhunt comes to PlayStation 5 in 2021 – PlayStation.BlogEver since we announced Bloodhunt earlier this year, we have been hearing from PlayStation players asking for a PlayStation version. We are therefore incredibly excited to reveal that we are partnering with Sony to bring Bloodhunt to the PS5 later this year. Bloodhunt is a free-to-play, third-person battle royale game set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe. The story takes you to the Old Town of Prague, where rivaling vampire factions are thrown into turmoil after a treacherous betrayal. With both sides targeted for annihilation by a secret society known as the Entity, you will have to use your supernatural powers, weapons, and wits to dominate the night and restore the Masquerade. Bloodhunt features multiple clans. The Toreador clan vampires seem to be everything contemporary young humans aspire to become, but their talent and beauty are nothing but a hunter’s camouflage. The Brujah are violent visionaries and spiteful rebels. Their solutions are tainted by their anger and lack of self-control. And then we have the Nosferatu who thrive in the shadows and have spies and agents where you least expect it. Each of the clans is represented by two vampiric archetypes that come with their unique set of abilities and powers, allowing for a wide variety of playstyles. Unparalleled traversal skills are shared by all and enable you to scale any buildings, defy gravity and strike from anywhere making room for even more creative combat strategies and unique battle scenarios. Bloodhunt also provides deep customization features that let players create their ultimate vampires. We feature a large variety of clothing, tattoos, piercings, jewelry, hairstyles, make-up, and more in assorted styles of fashion and trends. A wide variety of vanity will be made available through the Battle Pass progression as well as through the in-game store.  Bloodhunt on PS5 has a performance target of 60 FPS and will make full use of the DualSense wireless controller. You will be able to feel the differences between the caliber of the weapons as the adaptive triggers are planned to have different resistance per weapon.  We are also making sure to utilize the full capabilities of 3D audio to immerse the player in the setting. It will also provide an edge in hunting your prey, helping to pinpoint where the screams, gunshots, and enemies are coming from.  Finally, we have to mention that the Old Town of Prague in Bloodhunt is very detailed and features a lot of unique textures and 3D models. The high-speed SSD in the PS5 makes it possible for us to fulfill our vision of a beautiful city. We will have a lot more to share about the PS5 version in the near future. Until then please check out our website and social channels to learn more about our game. Until next time. See you at dusk! Gaming tips Posted By Fortnite x Batman Comics Summarized Issues #1-#3Fortnite recently partnered with DC to create a 6-book comic series featuring some of DC’s most popular superheroes (and villains) venturing into the Fortnite universe. Along with the crossover featuring a great storyline, it also promised to reveal some of the biggest secrets about the mysterious Fortnite universe, including the nature of the Storm, the Zero Point, what the Loop really is, and how the mysterious IO organization has been manipulating the island. And boy, did they deliver. This series has made some pretty important revelations that have changed the way we understand the Fortnite universe. The comics were sold separately, each with a unique code that allowed players to acquire exclusive cosmetics from them. This included the Batman Zero Point comic outfit as well. However, DC Infinite isn’t available in many regions and the physical comics haven’t been made available worldwide. So, we’ll be taking you through the first three issues of this series today, summarizing the storyline and all hidden secrets from the comics.Fortnite x Batman Issue #1The first comic starts with a Rift opening in Gotham city, while Jim Gordon and Batman observe it from a distance. Rifts are portals from the Fortnite universe, created using the Zero Point energy. Batman sees Harley Quinn jumping into the Rift and is forced to follow her in by a mysterious figure, only to find himself in a whole new world: the Fortnite island. He is in the middle of a Battle Royale match – what we refer to as the “Loop” – and observes that artificial and timed nature of the storm that closes in on the island. We’ve previously had this hinted though the Device event, when Midas tried to manipulate the storm and temporarily sent us into the world of the IO, the organization that we’ve been speculating to be the power behind the Storm. The Loop is the unending chain of Battle Royale matches, and plays an important part in the story.Batman quickly finds out that everyone on this island is out to kill each other. He also is completely muted, along with everyone else he sees, and has no recollection of who he is or how he got there. Yet, when he sees Catwoman on the island, he feels a sense of familiarity and senses that it is reciprocated. When they fight, they fight together and are unusually coordinated, and despite the distortions in their memory, they are able to work as a team. The book ends with the storm closing in, with no way out.Fortnite x Batman Issue #2In the second issue, the storm has closed in in the first match and Batman has been immediately dropped into another. However, he has started taking notes, such as coordinates and his affinity towards Catwoman, and realizes that the Loop lasts exactly for 22 minutes (the duration of an average match). He feels that he is being manipulated, just like everyone else in the Loop, and this time fights without hesitation. The shack in which he stores these notes also temporarily appeared in-game near Slurpy Swamp! In the new match, he encounters Catwoman again and finds it easy to convince her to be on his side again. This reveals to us an important aspect of the Loop: while memories don’t carry over between iterations of the Loop, feelings do.They explore the island together and try escaping it through obvious ways. They fail to simply ride a boat away from the island, and are unable to find any clues underwater. They study the nature of the storm and realize that only the centre of the storm changes. Catwoman tries placing a device at the centre of the final storm, and they find it intact during the next one, meaning the storm never fully covers it. However, this also means that only one of them can make it through the end of the match. In the end of the issue, he lets Catwoman be the last one standing.Fortnite x Batman Issue #3The third issue takes a strange turn. It is narrated from the point of view of the IO, via messages they share with each other where they even refer to people as “assets”. We find our speculations about the IO being manipulative to be true, as they have various departments like “PsyOps” (psychological operations) that can alter people’s thoughts while they are in the Loop. They have been observing Batman all along, and to our surprise, the IO doesn’t feel threatened by it. In fact, they have been expecting him to escape. They have failed to manipulate him multiple times, and can see that he is making steady progress towards figuring out how the storm works and exiting the Loop. We see Snake Eyes (from G.I.Joe) in the Loop as well, fighting Batman and proving to be tough competition. Not being able to talk certainly makes it harder, and the IO is absolutely enjoying the battle as they joke about grabbing popcorn while the two fight for their lives. One of the IO’s discussions confirms Batman’s supposition about emotions carrying over between iterations of the Loop. One of these emotions is respect, and we see Batman saving Snake Eyes when he is about to slide from a cliff during their fight. This angers the IO but they shake it off, discussing how they are waiting for Batman to come out and fall into their trap. In the end of the issue, we see Batman finally making it through the Storm. He finds himself on an emptier version of the island, where Catwoman (who already made it through in the earlier iteration) is being held hostage by Deathstroke, another DC villain.  EndnoteIt’s interesting to see that these comics have revealed so much more about the island than Fortnite’s recent live events and seasonal stories. We’re finally getting a clearer idea of Fortnite’s villains and how our transition into Chapter 3 might take place. We’ll be covering the next three issues in our next article, so be sure to check it out for a summary of the final three issues of the Fortnite x Zero Point series!Read MoreFortnite x Batman Comics Summarized Issues #4-#6 Gaming tips Posted By Deconstructing the impeccable animation of Ratchet Clank: Rift Apart – PlayStation.BlogHey there, interdimensional travelers! It’s been an incredible two months since launching Ratchet Clank: Rift Apart, and we’ve been truly humbled by your kind responses to our game. Ratchet Clank: Rift Apart was designed as a showpiece for your PS5 console that delivers our signature blend of fun and over-the-top gameplay, all wrapped in a thrilling cinematic package. One way we accomplish this is through animation, so let’s discuss the work our animators did to bring our characters and world to life! Our HeroesIt’s no secret we love a hero at Insomniac, and we have quite a few in Ratchet Clank: Rift Apart. Not only does the game star our titular duo, Ratchet and Clank, but it also introduces Rivet, a new Lombax fighting with the resistance, and nanobot hacker Glitch, as playable characters.Glitch posed an interesting challenge for our animators. Because she’s navigating uneven terrain during her hacking missions, our animators worked closely with programmers on procedural locomotion to make her animations look natural with the environment. When she goes up a wall, her spider legs respond accordingly to the surface.Introducing RivetWhile the animators had a rich history to reference for Ratchet, Clank, and Dr. Nefarious, we faced a much larger challenge creating a new hero that players would embrace in Rivet. With a powerhouse vocal performance from Jennifer Hale, it was up to animation to match it.Our animators ran with this challenge and built a facial pose library and model sheet to keep the animation of Rivet intact. This proved especially beneficial as it streamlined our processes by allowing us to quickly snap expressions on Rivet, which let us know very quickly we had an endearing new hero in our franchise.PersonalitiesThe goal of the animation team is to keep the personality in each character with clear reads for every state. Therefore, we have multiple conditions for our characters in the game. For instance, Goons will celebrate with a selfie if they manage to strike our hero. The Grunthors, who are often asleep, are instantly ready for a fight when approached, which shows their aggressive nature. This applies to non-combative NPCs too: they’ll quiver in fear if they’re in the vicinity of a fight or run away.Living WorldsDesigning each distinct area with purpose is crucial to our players’ experience, and it has its fair share of challenges. For example, the parade-goers would be too heavy for rigged characters. As such, they’re made with a vertex animation that manages to plunge players into the world, making them feel like they’re part of the celebration.Combat HeavyCombat is a staple of the Ratchet Clank series. Featuring a destructive arsenal at your disposal, it’s paramount that players connect to the world through weapons and gadgets. In combination with the character animations, the weapon animations make combat feel more dynamic and thrilling. These weapons are powerful, and we show it in multiple ways. The Ricochet, for example, helplessly knocks enemies around with each impact. Meanwhile, the Topiary Sprinkler stops foes in their tracks, turning them into beautiful front lawn decorations and leaves them vulnerable to attacks. And the Lightning Rod will make enemies convulse as electricity rapidly courses through them.Capturing SpectacleRatchet Clank: Rift Apart often throws players for a loop. One of the greatest lessons in crafting interesting experiences is setting players on a predictable path and then interrupting it with something unexpected, such as The Fixer sequence on Molonoth Gulch. The behemoth, who you originally sought help from, is now on a trail of destruction firing lasers at Rivet and toppling the environment around her. We also get up close with The Fixer to really show how massive he is in comparison to Rivet, adding a sense of scale to the action.Rigging AnimationsRig is the backbone to our projects from character rigs to dynamics, to blend shapes and simulations. Think of rigging like a skeleton: it’s what keeps the animations together and dictates how characters move, including head swivels, arm motions and more. When you see armor chipping away and flying off characters, that’s rig doing the work. The Cinematic ExperienceCinematics place detailed animations at the center of the experience. The animators greatly enhanced the cinematics of Ratchet Clank: Rift Apart on the PlayStation 5 console. Take the Zurkie’s scene with Rivet and Clank for example. There are a ton of background details: Emperor Nefarious’ assistant eavesdropping, characters dancing, the electric rodeo ride, Zurkon Jr. taking orders, and so on. These cinematics are denser and more alive than was previously done.Raising the BarOur goal was to produce film-quality cinematics in Rift Apart that took advantage of PS5’s features. Rigging improvements gave animators even more control over facial performances, and the improvements to lighting, fur, and raytracing helped deliver the best cinematics in the franchise while also telling a deeper, richer story.Seamless TransitionsWe pushed to have seamless transitions from cutscenes to gameplay, and vice versa. Our introduction is a great example: one moment Ratchet is inside a room talking to Clank about his worries, then we reveal a grand celebration in honor of our hero packed with parade-goers. This is the first time we give the player control, so we added a few prompts like “Grab the Wrench” to let them know it’s time to play!We also wanted to support the vanity system, so we came up with a solution for armor and helmets that allowed us to show the players’ armor choices in cutscenes. We also animated helmet removals so we can keep our facial animations in the game while still respecting players’ aesthetic choices.Ratchet Clank: Rift Apart brings together over 25 years of Insomniac’s animation knowledge on PlayStation 5. So, while you’re blasting through hordes of troopers in Nefarious City or grinding through the Fixer’s trail of destruction, take a moment to admire our animators’ handy work! Gaming tips Posted By How to Sell Items and MoreNew World is currently taking the MMO genre by storm, and we are currently learning more about what the game has to offer. One key feature is being able to sell and buy items, which is what we are going to be looking at here. This article will take a look at the following:Selling ItemsWhat is the Trading Post? How to Trade with PlayersSalvage over SellingWhen Selling Items to NPC is Not FeasibleIn New World, we have an economy that is based on players, which is somewhat of a common theme in games like this. You will often see traits such as trading and crafting, and without much NPC trading options you would need to integrate with other players. If you don’t want to have to integrate with the community as much, then fear not. You have the option of the Trading Post. What is the Trading Post? The primary location for selling items in New World is going to be at the Trading Post, which is found within the settlements in the game. Most of your trades will take place with other players here, and every settlement has a separate Trading Post to the other. You will find the Trading Post usually in the central area of the settlement. Many different items and orders are found there, which are posted by other players looking to sell items. You will find orders for buying for those that are looking for an item in particular. They will also be asking for a certain price that they want to pay. This is something that can work heavily in your favour if you want to sell an item as fast as you can. When you see a buy order, they do tend to be looking for lower prices, but if you do want to get rid of an item quickly, then this is the place for you to do it.If making money is your primary goal, then the Trading Post is definitely the place for you to do it. It is the most efficient place for you to make money in the game, and can really come in handy if you are saving money to help claim territories or even buy your own house. You may have used the practice of flipping and such when playing similar games. This is something that you can try out here as well in New World. You simply have to find what items are valuable, and what items are being demanded by other players. When playing the game, have you noticed that there is a rather evasive item that you want to find for a quest? Then odds are that you are not the only one in that situation, and there will be many others who are looking to buy that item. So once you have the method down for acquiring it, you can then use this to your advantage to make a profit.Another thing to look at is builds. There is a lot of variety to enjoy when it comes to builds in New World, since it doesn’t have a traditional class system. By going online, you can find out what builds are popular looking for a certain gem. Then, craft the weapon and the gem and combine them together. This is a sure fire way for you to make money on the market, as is selling resources. As you can image, there is going to be a lot of demand for crafting materials that other people can use. Use this to help yourself to further profits, as crafting items are often needed for the likes of Town Projects. How to Trade With FriendsShould you not care for using the Trading Post, then there is another albeit less popular method of trading. This is done through trading with players directly. To do this, all you have to do is find other in-game players and start a trade, which you can do by pressing the “H” key whilst looking in their direction. When you have done so, you will see a window coming up so your trading can start. This is still generally a good way of trading, especially for those in your company and your friends. Use the text chat if you wish to share any items that you think players would be interested in buying. Again, like with the Trading Post, this is a good opportunity to get rid of any items that you want to get rid of quickly. Any armour or weapons that you aren’t using can be sold off easily here.Salvage Over SellingYou do have a third choice, which is to salvage your items instead of selling them. This is a way of making money, but it is nowhere near as viable as other methods that we have discussed so far. You will be making very, very little in comparison by salvaging, though it is still something you should be doing. The reason for this is that you will have to use salvaging if you are going to get the repair parts so you can repair your gear. This would be done by salvaging armour and weapons. You will find that the New World Trading Post is a very viable way for not only selling items, but buying them too. .You are going to see many similarities in features in New World that you would see in other MMORPGs. The Trading Post and the likes of salvaging items is going to be familiar if you are clued up with the genre. Not only that, but you are able to trade with other players in a rather simple manner. Usually you would have a choice as to which method you prefer depending on your play style as far as selling items go. But it is pretty clear that the Trading Post is your best option for offloading any items you don’t want. So head to your nearest settlement and take a look at what the Trading Post can do for you. Gaming tips Posted By Season 0 of the Splitgate beta starts today – PlayStation.BlogHey PlayStation Nation! I’m Ian, creator of the game Splitgate and CEO of 1047 Games.Last month, Splitgate started its open beta, a typically uneventful testing phase where us devs receive feedback and put on some minor finishing touches before the official release. However, our open beta was anything but typical. If you aren’t familiar with what happened, long story short, Splitgate basically exploded (in a good way) which left our servers unable to keep up with the demand. In the span of a month, our servers went from supporting 4,000 players at once to 175,000 players! All in all, our servers had some growing pains, so we had to implement short-term solutions to prevent back-end crashes. With our original plans completely changed, we decided to put off our official launch in favor of extending the beta to enable us to continue working on our servers while still giving players new content. The Splitgate Beta’s next phase – Season 0With Season 0 starting today, players will experience the same exact content we originally intended for the official release, but we’re still calling it a beta. Here’s what to expect from today’s update:New Map: Karman StationSeason 0 Battle Pass – 100 Levels of exclusive itemsSeason-spanning ChallengesNew Mode: ContaminationNew weapon skins, armor sets, and emotesThe new map, Karman Station, is the most beautiful map we’ve ever made, in my opinion. When you load up the game after updating, this should definitely be the first thing you check out.Season 0’s Battle Pass has some of the best items we’ve ever made. Readers of the PlayStation Blog get a first-look at the Battle Pass.Another addition we’re really happy about is Contamination mode. Many players have been requesting it, and listening to suggestions from the community is something we pride ourselves on. Contamination is our first “asymmetrical” game mode where both teams are not equal to each other. When the contaminated team gets a frag on the normal team, when that player respawns, they become a member of the contaminated. We’re really excited to see the community’s response to it.How did we get here?By now we were expecting to be officially released, have a stream of updates coming, have a solid player base of a few thousand, and be steadily growing. Fate had other plans. Splitgate recently hit over 10 million downloads and 175,000 concurrent players during its beta test alone, so we’ll be staying in beta until we’re ready. This got us thinking, why did Splitgate blow up like this?We were always optimistic that our game would eventually catch on, but no one expected the level of explosive growth we received this early. One theory we have is that Splitgate fills a void that players didn’t know they had.The battle royale genre has dominated shooters since 2017. For many, this was the refreshing experience gamers were looking for. As ambitious as this might sound, this is something we hope Splitgate can replicate with its arena shooter foundation. We’ve heard many on social media argue that “there’s nothing to play.” Obviously, there are plenty of games to play. What they really probably mean to say is, “there’s nothing out there that feels fresh and new.”So how can Splitgate, an arena shooter, deviate from the Battle Royale mold and yet find an ever-growing player base? The short answer is its intriguing portal mechanic. Players who pick up the game quickly find that the portal mechanic quite literally adds a whole new dimension to the FPS genre.Portals are an extremely rewarding game mechanic, once you understand them.Another hypothesis as to why Splitgate caught on so strongly is simply its unique and fun gameplay loop. Players are already familiar with shooting mechanics, but when combining them with portals, it becomes a whole new experience. Here are a few examples.Take a simple gun fight. The idea of “who sees who first” and “who has better aim” is flipped on its head. For example, a player can use their portal instead to flank their enemy from behind.Portals even change the way mundane actions happen such as moving around the map. After we released on PC, one of our players discovered a movement technique called “triple-portaling,” which enables players to rotate around the level quickly.Shooting enemies through your portal, playing keep-away with the objective, and inventing hilarious mini games in custom lobbies are just some of the reasons why portals keep players coming back for more. This is just the beginningAs we expand our dev team at 1047 Games, we’ll be adding more and more features. We have plans for more customizations, a map editor, new weapons, new maps, and more. In the near future, PlayStation fans can also expect an update for enhancements in the game for the PS4 Pro and the PS5.It’s been quite the journey for us, so we are quite humbled by all the attention and excitement around the game. We hope you’ll enjoy playing Splitgate when Season 0 releases today.See you in the arena. Gaming tips Posted By OSRS Portal Nexus GuideWant to learn everything you need to know about the Portal Nexus OSRS has to offer you? Then you’re in the right place. There are many, many items that you will find across the wide world of Old School Runescape that can be very beneficial to you in different ways. The Portal Nexus is one such example, and today we will be looking at a few different aspects that will help you to use them yourself. This guide will be looking at the following:What is a Portal Nexus? How Much Does it Cost? How to Add a TeleportCustomising your TeleportPortal Nexus TypesWhat is a Portal Nexus? If you have a player-owned house, then you can take advantage of a Portal Nexus. This is a room that can be built in your house to teleport you to many different locations in Gielinor. To build this room, you will need to be up to a point where you have at least level 67 Construction and an orange spicy stew. How Much Does it Cost?If you would like to build it, this will cost you 200,000 coins and level 72 Construction. You have a choice of four hotspots available for the Portal Nexus. These include amulet space, curtain space, Portal Nexus space, and rug space. How to Add a TeleportThe Portal Nexus works in a similar way to portals that you find in the portal chamber. You can add thirty different locations for you to teleport to. The amount that you are limited to depends on the tier of the Portal Nexus that has been built. If you are going to direct a portal, then you will need the same level of magic and relevant quest requirements as the cost of casting the teleport spell. You don’t need to have the same spellbook as the teleport spell that is being directed, either. However, you can’t use combination runes, or runes in a rune pouch. You also can’t use elemental staves. You’re also out of luck if you want to use certain methods to increase your magic level. These boosts include magic potions, wizard mind bombs, and an imbued heart. Another tip is that you won’t need to be in building mode if you want to add a location you want to teleport to. If you do upgrade your Portal Nexus, then the destinations will be saved from previous versions of it. This saves you having to come up with the runes for it once more.If you have finished the Medium Varrock Diary, you can select the Grand Exchange as a default destination via the teleport menu. You can do the same for Seers’ Village if you’ve finished the Hard Kandarin Diary. If you’ve completed the Hard Ardougne Diary, then you can select Yanille as a teleport destination too. There are a number of teleports that can’t be added to your Portal Nexus that you should be aware of. These include Trollheim, Paddewwa, Lassar, Dareeyak, Ourania, Barbarian, Khazard, Ice Plateau and Respawn teleports. The shorter version to all of this is to make sure that you are carrying the relevant amount of runes so that you can cast the teleport of your choosing a thousand times over. To add the teleport to your Portal Nexus, right-click on the desired teleport and you’re good to go.Customising your TeleportAfter building a Portal Nexus, you can customise how the teleportation interface works. You can do this via the configuration option, which you need to right-click on. You will see available slots and choose which is the left-click option for you. So drag and drop the teleports that you have available to you and put them in the slot you want them in. The order that they appear in the list of slots will determine the keyboard choices on the right-click interface for the teleport.Whilst you are in the teleport interface, you will find a list on display. This will inform you of what teleports are available to you, and the keyboard options that are available for them. The first keyboard option is the left-click choice on your portal. You can also switch your interface to Scry Mode, where the scrying pool is used to look into areas that the player would be teleporting themselves towards. To do this, go into the interface and click on the Portal Nexus. If you pay for a teleport then you will be able to use it permanently whenever you like, providing you have a Portal Nexus and you have them in the relevant slot in the list. You can also rearrange the teleports within the slots list if you wish, and can change the left-click option without being charged for it. If you do remove a teleport from the list of slots, or take out the Portal Nexus or even the whole room, then you will need to consume rune again to unlock the teleports when you rebuild the Portal Nexus. You will see a confirmation message if you try this.Portal Nexus TypesYou have three types of Portal Nexus that you can build. For each type, you need to meet a certain level of construction. You have the Marble Portal Nexus, which requires level 72 construction. Then there’s the Gilded Portal Nexus at level 82 construction, and the Crystalline Portal Nexus at level 92. Though this does require level 92 construction, you will also be able to add 30 teleports to it.The Portal Nexus OSRS provides a great way for you to traverse the world of Old School Runescape. It proves to be a very handy investment on your part, especially when you have a bit of experience behind you and need to get around the map more fluidly. You do need to keep in mind expense and experience that’s needed for them of course, but when you consider what benefits they have, you will soon see for yourself what a positive effect it has. Gaming tips Posted By Our Inspirations Behind Black Panther’s Outfits in the War for Wakanda Expansion – PlayStation.BlogBlack Panther has been an iconic character in the Marvel universe for over 50 years now, first debuting in the comics in 1966. With so much history in a single character, there were endless avenues our team could have gone down to create the Marvel’s Avengers version of Black Panther and his diverse collection of outfits. We’d like to take a moment to discuss creating T’Challa’s look and our thought-process behind it.Iconic Outfit – Let’s begin with a Crystal Dynamics original design and the outfit you’ll start with in the Expansion. When creating this outfit, we combined the classic Black Panther visuals and silhouette with the full hood and armbands with the more modern and functional aspects of his look that many fans have grown accustomed to over the years. We used these two aspects of Black Panther’s history and put it through what we call the “Crystal Lens” in order to create a suit that could be more realistically made with materials and construction methods, but also still set in the fantastical where it is a one-of-a-kind creation just for T’Challa. We took the classic armbands on his forearms and turned them into bracers that Black Panther can use to defend himself. We also wanted to include the crest in the center of his chest to denote that iconic feel that he is the Black Panther and to give him a visual ownership of that mantle. When it comes to the helmet, we were inspired to create a silhouette that was reminiscent of his first look in the comics, but with closer inspection, there is more structure to it; the eyes aren’t empty, they have a lens there that signifies he is looking at his own HUD to once again blend the classic with the modern. We also included some fine detail into the outfit to make it more advanced and cutting edge by interlacing Vibranium throughout to reflect his ability to absorb energy. Our team built the mesh of the Iconic Outfit from scratch and used our material system to push how the lighting reflects off of the multiple surfaces in the outfit whether that’s the carbon fiber, hard plastic, or the original woven material. Players can zoom in closely to the Iconic Outfit and see just how much detail we put into the suit due to our material system.A version of this Iconic Outfit that will be released is inspired by Black Panther’s secret guard, the Hatut Zeraze, who eventually became mercenaries that were loyal to Wakanda. When our team was thinking of what other outfits to include with the War for Wakanda Expansion, we wanted to provide a variety from various points of Black Panther’s 50+ year comic history. We also wanted to make sure each of them had a signature look that could be instantly recognizable from a distance whether on a screen or in the game, so we went with bold choices that stand out. Most Dangerous Man Outfit – Taken from the comics, this noir-style outfit was front and center when Kasper Cole, who first appeared in Black Panther #50 (2002), briefly took on the mantle of Black Panther in New York City. Kasper thought wearing the outfit would give him an edge, especially with the coat over it.Damisa-Sarki Outfit – With “Introducing the Sensational Black Panther!” on the cover of the comic that showed how Black Panther was first envisioned by Jack Kirby, our team knew we had to do a reinterpretation of it. Meaning “The Panther” in Wakandan, the Damisa-Sarki Outfit shows Black Panther in a short cape and the same attention to detail when it comes to the materials of the outfit. Black Panther has worn a cape in many of his looks throughout comic history, which is reflected in this outfit.Royal Legacy Outfit – This is an outfit taken from the iconic Black Panther comic series. We wanted to include an outfit that paid homage to ancient Wakandan culture. We worked with Marvel to ensure proper care was given to all of T’Challa’s outfits. That’s it for now! We hope you enjoyed reading about our process on creating Black Panther’s many outfits and how inspired we were by his vast history. Our team put a lot of heart and soul into ensuring Black Panther and Wakanda had a visual identity that was instantly recognizable by Black Panther fans, but also one that we could add a Crystal Dynamics touch to. We’re always creating new outfits for Marvel’s Avengers and will continue to create more for Black Panther. Keep an eye out for them!
