Department of Agricultural Education, Communications and LeadershipDepartment of Agricultural Education, Communications and LeadershipAbout Us The Department of Agricultural Education, Communications and Leadership (AECL) develops students into well-rounded agricultural professionals.Whether they want to pursue a career as an agricultural education teacher, magazine editor, public relations specialist, sales and marketing associate, extension educator; AECL can help students achieve their goals.Our faculty and staff work closely with students inside and outside of the classroom to create a family atmosphere to help them feel this is a place they can call home. AECL advisers (like all advisers in our college) are faculty members who advise, teach courses and are involved professionally in the area a student is studying. Faculty advisers assist in planning an individual program of study that considers a students background, interests and future plans. Our faculty and staff have an “open-door policy,” inviting students to stop by their offices if they need assistance with academic or personal challenges.We feel it is our job not only to help our in students in their academic pursuits, but also to assist in their total student development – from the transition to college and selecting a major to developing leadership skills and preparing career and life plans.Browse our site to learn more about our department!
