SSCC is the Scientific and Statistical Computing Core of the NIMH Intramural Research Program. The primary function of this core is to support functional neuroimaging research at the NIH. This includes development of new data analysis techniques, their implementation in the AFNI software, advising researchers on the analysis methods, and instructing them in the use of software tools. As part of a large group of changes to the way AFNI deals with templates and atlases, AFNI now includes expanded support for a virtually unlimited selection of atlases, standard templates, template spaces and transformations. The primary resource for defining how AFNI handles the various aspects of atlas and template space usage is determined by referencing a central file, AFNI_atlas_spaces.niml. This scheme allows users to create atlases and templates relatively easily. Atlases and Templates  AFNI (Analysis of Functional NeuroImages) is a leading software suite of C, Python, R programs and shell scripts primarily developed for the analysis and display of anatomical and functional MRI (FMRI) data. It is freely available (both in source code and in precompiled binaries) for research purposes. The software is made to run on virtually any Unix system with X11 and Motif displays. Binary Packages are provided for MacOS and Linux systems including Fedora, Ubuntu (including Ubuntu under the Windows Subsytem for Linux)  SUMA is a program that adds cortical surface based functional imaging analysis to the AFNI suite of programs. It allows   viewing 3D cortical SUrface models, and MApping volumetric data onto them. With SUMA, AFNI can simultaneously and in real-time render Functional Imaging data in 4 modes: Slice, Graph (time series), Volume and Surface with direct links between them. NIfTI (Neuroimaging Informatics Technology Initiative) The primary goal of NIfTI is to provide coordinated and targeted service, training, and research to speed the development and enhance the utility of informatics tools related to neuroimaging.
