Bookshops ReopenThe booksellers of Wigtown are reopening their doors to customers after introducing a number of different procedures for keeping customers and staff safe following the COVID-19 closure.The majority of bookshops will begin opening from the 13th July though Foggie Toddle Books (the children’s bookshop formerly known as Curly Tale Books) and Well-Read Books welcomed customers again from the week beginning the 29th June.Number 11 and The Bookshop will be open from the 13th of July with Old Bank Bookshop from the 15th. Reading Lasses will reopen on the 25th to celebrate five years since Jacqui took over the café bookshop, whilst Beltie Books and the Wigtown Emporium will be open again from the 1st August. Byre Books will not reopen until Spring 2020.All of the bookshops are introducing hand sanitiser stations, one-way systems, baskets for browsed books to be quarantined, limited customer numbers where necessary and changes to opening times. Several of the bookshops have now initiated online sales or increased their online catalogues.
