We have have recently launched several new journals covering topics ranging from pan-Africanism to intersectionality. Find out more Pluto Journals launches pilot to flip our journal portfolio to Open Access using the Subscribe-to-Open modelWe are announcing a pilot to transform our complete journal portfolio of 21 titles to Open Access (OA) from 2021 onwards. The project “Pluto Open Journals” will be realised in partnership with Knowledge Unlatched, and with the support of the initiators of the ground-breaking S2O model Libraria, a group of anthropologists and other social scientists committed to Open Access. Pluto Journals will be asking those libraries and institutions currently subscribing to any of the journals to renew for 2021 on a Subscribe-to-Open (S2O) basis, thus contributing to making these journals completely free to readers and authors all over the world. In addition to relying on its usual subscription agents, Pluto Journals will also be supported by Knowledge Unlatched in introducing the Subscribe-to-Open model to libraries. By building on the current subscription processes, the S2O model involves librarians in their existing roles as decision-makers and curators as to which journals merit support, in this case on behalf of readers worldwide as the journals move to open access. Launching two new journals for 2021:International Journal of Disability and Social Jusice International Journal for the Study of Indentureship and its LegaciesIn 2021, we are launching two new journals in the fields of disability studies and the study of indentureship. Both journals will contribute scholarly peer-reviewed research to areas that have historically been under researched. We hope the International Journal of Disability and Social Justice will be of particular interest to disabled people and their allies, as well as those working to challenge injustices and build inclusive societies. The Journal for the Study of Indentureship and its Legacies is published in partnership with the Ameena Gafoor Institute for the Study of Indentureship and its Legacies, and provides a unique and unprecedented academic space for the study of indentureship to be analysed in all forms. New journal in 2020: PrometheusPluto Journals is pleased to announce that we will be taking over publishing Prometheus. Since this journal was launched in 1983, it has pushed against the boundariessurrounding the understanding of innovation. Prometheus will continue to publish critical papers on innovation issues, and you can expect their next issue as part of the Pluto Journals family in early 2020.
