We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and we are all looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.Our office follows the recommendations made by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Executive Order 138 of the Governor of North Carolina. We will continue to monitor the recommendations of these agencies and make additional changes as needed. As our office prepares to open on Monday, May 11th at 8:00am, we are asking for your help in keeping our office healthy and safe. We have made the following changes, and until further notice we will require our patients and families to follow these safety protocols:At the time our office confirms your upcoming appointment, we will ask screening questions to assess whether you may currently have, or be at risk of having COVID-19. Before entering the building on the day of your appointment, we ask that you answer the same screening questions on the Patient Screening Form that will be located by the front door. If you answer “Yes” to any of the questions, you must remain outside and call 336-271-2763 to reschedule your appointment.Only one parent or caregiver may accompany the patient inside the building (no additional family members).A mask covering the nose and mouth must be worn by the parent and patient (3 and older) at all times while in the office.At check-in, please use the provided hand sanitizer.After you check in for your appointment, we will ask you and your child to wait in your car until we call or text you for your appointment. If you are asked to remain in the waiting room, please be aware that magazines, children’s toys, books and so forth, are no longer provided since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. Kidspecs optical shop will open for service by appointment.
