Congratulations to the Champions of 2020

 

 

Following a great awards evening presentation at The Hilton, Auckland, 25 Trophies were awarded for best in class wines, winemaker and wine company of the show and the Sir George Fistonich medal for a Legend of New Zealand Wine. Click the link below to see all results.

  

New Zealand's largest wine judging competition was judged from 21st - 23rd September awarding a record number of 304 gold, 387 silver and 732 bronze medals.  The excellent vintages of 2019 and 2020 gave us spectacular wines and the judges were treated to many of the best varietal line-ups they have ever encountered.

 

Standout varieties included Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz where record numbers of gold medals were awarded.  Rosé wines also fared well with 5 Double Gold and 11 Gold Medals awarded.  

 

The big winners are the purchasing public as the judges have identified the wines that make buying top quality so much easier.
