And we haven t really pushed to have any new content here. So I ve got to put it out to the community (or at least, what s left of it): what do you want to see happen with this page?We can either leave it as-is, a silent testament to the days when we had something to talk about or we can do something else. We could go hunting for other content editors to post. We could integrate the page with the forums and roll out the best and brightest forum threads into front-page posts. We could aggregate someone else s information in a live-feed sort of setup.Ultimately, we re dead in the water right now. So feel free to share what you d like to see here! March 18th, 2009 DMCA takedowns Posted by complich8 in Site News So, the funny thing about running a tracker site is that sometimes you ll get DMCA takedown notices. Once in a while, they re from people who point out a config issue with the tracker like what happened about a year ago, which caused me in particular a giant world of annoyance trying to fix a system I didn t set up or fully grok at the time.Other times, we get notices from folks who don t too much appreciate what we do, because it sometimes ends up directly competing with what _they_ do. And you know, nobody wants to starve. Which, being a fan of having my own livelihood, is a position I can t really fault someone for having.Well, that was what we got today. The DMCA notice from an actually interested party, that is.You might notice a couple of torrents have gone missing. I ll wait for someone who s in a little closer cooperation with the group to make any relevant announcements, but if you re wondering why the torrent you were on disappeared, this might just be why. Just saying . on the bright side, things like this DO give us a nice solution to the problem of data lifecycle management. If the people who own copyright on our old torrents send us takedowns, it means I can delete things! March 8th, 2009 Michiko 12!
