COVID-19 Updates from the Superintendent Please click here for the latest updates from the Superintendent Comments (-1) FJUHSD Reopening of Athletics and Activities Plan Update - August 12, 2020 The District will reopen athletics beginning Wednesday, August 12, 2020 for fall sports (football, boys and girls cross country, boys and girls volleyball, and boys and girls water polo). On Monday, August 17, 2020, all athletics and activities will be open. Comments (-1) Food Services - Free meals to students at all schools USDA and the State of California announced on August 31, 2020 the extension of the Free meal waiver, through December 31, 2020. Therefore, any students 18 years and younger (even if not enrolled at FJUHSD) may receive free meals at any FJUHSD school site parking lot through the Grab & Go walk-up and drive thru services. Parents/Guardians may pick up meals for students. Serving times: Breakfast (9:30-10:30 am) Lunch (12:00-2:00 pm) *Supper (2:30-3:30 pm) *Supper is offered only at Buena Park, Fullerton Union, La Habra, and Sonora High Schools. Comments (-1) Fullerton Education Partnership This partnership establishes a pipeline that will enhance college-going and transfer rates and increase the number of CSUF eligible students, expedite time to degree, and serve low-income and first-generation students. Comments (-1) I want to welcome everyone back for the new school year in the Fullerton Joint Union High School District! As the school year begins, I want to share in particular what our District stands for and the overall goals for our students. Every year, it is my pleasure to visit all of our school sites and classrooms on a regular basis and personally witness the meaningful things we are doing for all students. I am passionate about preparing students to enter the global workforce through integration of technology, real-world applications, and rigorous instruction. As we anticipate the coming challenges, we also recognize the privilege and high calling each of us in the Fullerton Joint Union High School District has to build, equip, inspire, and provide opportunities to our youth for their future. Each day, we seek to provide something, for every student - something that will not only prepare them for college and career, but build character and integrity as well.In addition, we are in the midst of modernizing many District facilities supported by Measure I. Below is a list of the projects currently under construction or slated to begin this school year:Current Projects● New pool project at Buena Park High School to be completed by October 2020● New gymnasium at Fullerton Union High School anticipated to be completed by April 2021● New elevator at Fullerton Union High School to be completed by September 2020● New ramp at Fullerton Union High School anticipated to be completed by June 2020● Science classroom modernization at Sunny Hills High School to be completed by September 2020New Projects● Gym modernization at Buena Park High School to be started in July 2020● New HVAC system in the Sunny Hills High School Cafeteria to be started July 2020● New team rooms at Fullerton Union High School to be started July 2020● New pool project at La Habra High School to be started in Spring 2021● Gym modernization at Sonora High School to be started in Spring 2021Seeking to provide the best possible education for each and every one of our students is both exhilarating and compelling.
