Description:

After weeks of work and input from parents, staff and health officials, D91 has drafted its plan for reopening schools this fall. Our goal is for all students to return to school in person in the fall. However, we know we can t control COVID-19 so the plan also includes options that will allow us to respond quickly to changing local, regional, state and national conditions. We encourage parents and staff to review the planand provide feedbackby noon July 13. The plan was drafted with input from the results of our parent survey, several advisory committees and guidance from the CDC, state and local health officials and other organizations. This is a living document and will be updated as additional guidance is released. The plan, along with the feedback from parents and staff, will go to the Board of Trustees for approval on July 15. Thank you to all D91 parents who took time to respond to our ReEntry Parent Survey. We are working closely with health officials, and our goal is to reopen schools in somefashion this fall. Information collected in the survey will be integrated into D91 s ReEntry Plan, which is currently being developed. A draft of the plan should be available for review next week. It will go to the Board of Trustees for approval on July 15.See Survey Results. The Board of Trustees has approved an appeals process that allows secondary students to request that a Pass/P be changed to a letter grade on their transcripts. Request forms will be available on the district website beginning July 15, but they won t be reviewed or processed until school starts this fall. The deadline to file an appeal is Jan. 8, 2021. We recommend that seniors make their requests by Oct. 1, 2020 so the appeals can be processed in time for fall early decision deadlines, etc. Learn more about the appeals process and the criteria teachers could consider in assigning grades by clicking here. All students who want to request letter grades must file an appeals form, including students in dual enrollment classes, IDLA classes, AP classes and all other classes. In light of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in and around Idaho, the D91 Education Foundation has made the really difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Heart of Idaho Century Ride. With the dramatic increase in cases recently, we think it best to cancel this year s event and start planning for 2021. We wouldn t want to do anything to endanger the health and welfare of our riders, volunteers or community at large. We hope to see you next August for the 2021 Heart of Idaho Century Ride! Riders who have already registered for the event can donate their registration fees to the D91 Education Foundation, rollover the fees for the 2021 ride or request a refund. Online registration is now available for students who are new to D91 for the 2020-21 school year. Online registration is quick and easy and allows parents to enter information and upload required documents like birth certificates and immunization records. After registration, middle school and high school students will be contacted by the counseling office to set up a class schedule.New studentregistration IS NOT for current D91 students even if they are moving to a new school in the 2020-21 school year.REGISTER ONLINE Registration is now under way for summer school with sessions for middle school and high school students. The focus of this year s summer school will be on credit recovery in core subjects like math, English, science and history. The first session for high school students will be offered online with face-to-face sessions starting in late June. Students interested in summer school opportunities should check with their counselor and then complete the registration packet. 7-8 Summer School and9-12 Summer School. Questions?
