The console is still based on the relatively low-end Rockchip RK3326 quad-core Cortex-A35 processor coupled with just 1GB RAM found in ODROID-Go Advance. It does the job for the emulators targetted by the platform, but for a wider range of emulators, a faster processor, and more memory would be nice to have. That s what the developers of KT R1 portable game console aim to achieve with a much more powerful Amlogic S922X hexa-core Cortex-A73/A55 processor and up to 4GB RAM. KT R1 preliminary specifications: SoC – Amlogic S922X hexa-core big.LITTLE processor with 4x Arm Cortex A73 cores @ up to 1.8 GHz, 2x Arm Cortex A53 cores @ 1.9 GHz, Arm Mali-G52MP4 GPU @ 846MHz; 12nm manufacturing process System Memory – 2GB or 4GB LPDDR4 RAM Storage – 16 to 128GB eMMC flash, microSD card slot Display 4-inch [ ]AdvertisementsPosted on December 24, 2020 by Jean-Luc Aufranc (CNXSoft) - No Comments on Actinius launches nRF9160 SoM and XBee module with NB-IoT, LTE Cat-M, and GPSActinius launches nRF9160 SoM and XBee module with NB-IoT, LTE Cat-M, and GPS Last year, Actinius launched Icarus IoT Board equipped with nRF9160 SiP providing GPS NB-IoT connectivity in Adafruit Feather form factor. The company is now back with more compact Nordic Semi nRF9160 hardware, namely the tiny 28 18.5mm Icarus SoM with built-in eSIM, as well as Icarus Bee XBee module that incorporates Icarus SoM plus a nano-SIM slot, as well as an RGB LED and a user button. The solution provides a board with the guts of Raspberry Pi 4 SBC but using the Arduino form factor including access to the six ADC pins, and an M.2 socket with the PCIe signal from the Broadcom SoC. Piunora carrier board (preliminary)specifications: SoM compatibility Raspberry Pi CM4 module with Broadcom BCM2711 quad-core Cortex-A72 processor @ 1.5 GHz, 1 to 8GB RAM, optional 4GB to 32GB eMMC flash, optional wireless module with 802.11b/g/n/ac WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 Storage 1x MicroSD card socket (for the OS when using Raspberry Pi CM4Lite system-on-module) Video Output 1x HDMI 2.0 port up to 4Kp60 Camera I/F MIPI camera connector USB 1x USB [ ]Posted on December 24, 2020December 24, 2020 by Saumitra Jagdale - 3 Comments on Himax WE-I Plus EVB AI development board supports TFLite for microcontrollersHimax WE-I Plus EVB AI development board supports TFLite for microcontrollers Himax WE-I Plus EVB is a low-power AI development board focused on machine learning and deep learning applications with its support for the TensorFlow Lite framework for Microcontrollers. LoRaWAN is free, apart from the hardware costs, but for projects that need wider coverage and/or higher bitrate cellular connectivity is the way to go and we ve seen in the past that Hologram offers a free developer SIM card for global IoT projects plus some low-cost cellular IoT plans, as well as 1CNE plans to offer a 10-year plan for 10 Euros. Blues Wireless has taken a different approach as they combine hardware and cellular connectivity with their Notecard LTE-IoT modems (LTE Cat 1/Cat M or NB-IoT) shipping for 10 years of connectivity for up to 500MB data. With the increase in open-source hardware, the available software support takes a considerable amount of time to develop AI/ML/DL applications. Some of the challenges faced today are that bare-metal devices do not have on-device memory management, and they do not have LLVM support. They are also hard to debug because of rigid programming and cross-compilation interfaces. Due to this, optimizing and deploying machine learning workloads to bare-metal devices today is difficult . To tackle these challenges, there have been developments to support TVM, an open-source machine learning compiler framework for CPUs, GPUs, and machine learning accelerators, on these bare-metal devices, and Apache TVM is running an open-source foundation to make this easy. µTVM is a component of TVM that brings broad framework support, powerful compiler middleware, and flexible autotuning and compilation capabilities to embedded platforms .
