Comments (-1) Saluda Trail received the Arts in Basic Curriculum Grant for the fourth year. This year we were awarded $9,437.00 which will fund bringing the arts to our students through artists in residence, maintenance for arts equipment and purchasing materials to aid in arts integration. The grant is funded by the South Carolina Arts Commission who receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts. Last year we supported our piano lab and band by using funding for the cleaning and upkeep of the lab and school instruments. Through the ABC Grant, we purchased a baby printing press which our 8th graders learned to use during their Renaissance Unit of Study. We also continue to grow our Arts Closet which aids teachers in bringing the arts into the core classrooms by providing materials in all arts disciplines.
