Home I have been teaching, researching and writing about education for over 40 years, most recently as Professor of Education at the University of Roehampton (London) where I am now Emeritus Professor. Since my 'retirement' in 2008, I have continued to undertake theoretical research, to write the odd article, to peer review papers submitted for publication, and to review books (mainly for the journal Pastoral Care in Education). I was for some years a trustee (latterly as Chair of the Board) for the Caspari Foundation, a registered charity which provides educational psychotherapy for children whose education is hampered by trauma and emotional problems of one kind or another. Though I have stepped down from trusteeship, I continue to support the charity, most recently by initiating a scheme (the Helen North Fund) which provides therapy for children who have suffered a bereavement.
