The family court judge gives a standard parental order of every other weeknd and a Wednesday dinner visit if you’re lucky coupled with a child support order. The easiest trigger is a disparity of parental time. The second way it can be triggered is for mom to turn into the child support division that you’re the father (wether you are or not if you’re unmarried) and the state will do it administratively.From that child support order the state collects your money with the attached service fees, credit card fees, administrative fees, interest, etc (varies from state to state) and sends it to mom or custodial dad. Then the state turns in billable hours for the collection of that money. The federal government sends the state reimbursement funds for the hours spent ordering, collecting, processing, paying, etc. of the child support.Best estimates are these funds are around 50-60 billion dollars a year and equate to about 66 cents for every dollar collected. The state may only use these funds in the furtherance of child support collection. They can hire more prosecutors, more collection agents, secretary’s, case workers, court clerks etc. States such as California collect more than say Montana due to population and case load.Now if the state collects enough case loads and meets certain criteria (collects enough funds, does enough collection work: issues garnishments, suspends drivers and occupational licenses, jail sentences etc) they receive a yearly bonus. The bonus may be spent through the attorney general (varies from state to state) in any way the state deems fit. The attorney general of Texas released a statement that Texas alone has collected 4 billion dollars worth of child support for year 2020 alone. During a pandemic. (A simple internet inquiry will produce the news articles). The same attorney general is on video stating the state of Texas funds over 60 percent of state government expenditures from the reimbursement funds and bonus. (YouTube) This has resulted in 24.7 million children going over a year without seeing their father or non custodial parent. I can post up 70 negative societal issues associated with what happens to children when one parent is forced out of the picture. This explains why a child support order is ordered under strict state calculation laws of child support that can result even if equal parenting time is ordered and a parent still having to pay the other when there is a disparity of income. As an example say mom makes 45k and dad makes 75k and still has to pay support when both houses are capable of sustaining on their own and saving for their child’s future as they both see fit. What part of any of this is in the best interest of the child to keep doing this over and over again when the science proves fathers or non custodial moms must be present or 50/50 present for a child to fully reach its potential and succeed? - Rosa ...
